The turn-around this game has experienced in the last years of its cycle are quite impressive.
The 2.0 Update brought back a lot of the fans for good reasons, the game was at the stage in which CD Projekt probably envisioned it from the start.

I played the game through at first before 2.0, I liked it but noticed a lot of things that annoyed me around the gameplay and progression.

I played the game again when I bought Phantom Liberty and I have to say, its become one of my most favourite games I ve played in recent times. I was able to finally take the world in and truly enjoy everything about it, from the stellar writing and quest design to the city itself and its design and secrets and stories it told.

Phantom Liberty has to be one of the most well written questlines I ve played through since I finished Witcher 3. I found the premise very interesting and it pulled me in to find out more. The story is extremely well written into the main story line of the game even though its an side adventure but the more you go through it and make specific choices, it literally turns into the main story line and replaces some plotpoints and even offers seperate endings to the game itself, I cant think of an expansion which did this the same way.

The characters in the game, but even more in the DLC, are believable, some are likable, some play good villains and some cause emotional attachment where you feel bad for what they go through.

It didnt matter if it was the main games ending or the DLCs ending, I wanted more of the game, I wanted to immerse myself even more into the world, there were so many questions left unanswered (in a good way) where I wanted to find out what it all meant.

I really do love this game and its world, its a shame the game couldnt have been like this from the start, really makes you think about how it all couldve went if the fallout of the launch wasnt there, maybe we wouldve gotten more DLCs and side content added to the game.

All thats left now is waiting for the sequel.
