Don't buy if you think you'll have access to this forever. You only rent games with Ubisoft.

Very niche game, I was very excited to terra-form a planet and see the changes. When the devs posted they were getting ready for v1.0 much of the community said to delay, it's not ready.

With the "release" of v1.0 it is clear, it is still an EA game. It feels like a small group made a game to pass a university course and for that this is a complete enough game, however for the public it's still a bit off; especially on polish.

Much of the game feels half baked. There is no consistency, many items missing descriptions; some things don't make sense, can fall through the map in many locations, balancing feels off - jumps between teirs is a drastic leap and even half the 'story' emails can arrive so late they're not applicable anymore. Can't even eat or sell a birthday cake that can be cooked like wtf. At this stage I'm unsure of how much re-playability the game even has.

If you have an AMD gpu, be prepared for HALF or even less of the fps as other cards. No idea why.

If you have an NVIDIA gpu, you will have a better experience than me.

Modding community is currently being held up by 1 person. How about go and hire them?

I can see why there are so many positive reviews as if you get the proper FPS you might be blind to the rest of the jank where when you are effected the other flaws are more noticeable as well. If they fixed AMD fps issues I will remove my review, if they actually completed the game properly I would give it a positive review.

Great game for casual FPS, loads quick. Drop in and do a match or two. Friendly community.

For a longer match it's easy to install some mods (swarm size control) and get things to insane levels.

Wish there was more missions and larger maps/cave systems.

Pros:
- Great voice acting
- Cool story
- Decent sounds
- You can pet dog

Cons:
- Everything else.
- Really bad A.I
- Highly pushed towards "stealth" to the point where A.I don't trigger outpost alarms on dead bodies or silenced shots.
- Very slow travel speeds.
- Vehicle handling is dogsh. Sometimes vehicles will auto-brake and auto-turn even if "autodrive" has not been enabled.

How was wildlands made before this? Recommend you buy Breakpoint when its on special for $9 instead. Breakpoint has a lot more replay-ability. I can see why Ubisoft push the 'you will own nothing' narrative because people finish the game once and never go back.

It costs just as much as Valheim and Valheim is better in every single way. Even on special I don't think it's worth it for solo play.

I primarily played this split-screen co-op (which Valheim does not have) and as I bought it on special I feel like I have my moneys worth as a group activity.

However the more I have played, the more I want to play Valheim. To start, the biggest let down has been the building; if there is a collision (even with a rock formation) you can't build there. Building stairs has to be over a platform not from the edge. Placing structures is buggy as heck. Building a raft is cool but placing structures on it sucks (they can only snap to the middle of a raft platform).

Farming heh, feels half finished; some things rot and spoil where others don't. Meat/cooked meat will spoil but if you leave it on the fire it wont. a bunch of the plants you can pick don't have a purpose.

Cutting trees leaves stumps you can't get rid of, half the shubbery you can't even get rid of which made a fantastic looking community island, horrible.

Base game islands are boring, community islands are mostly from older versions so have items with no use and floaty objects. Modding community is very small.

Sailing is ok the waves are nice. Diving around your island to explore sunken ships cool, but 20 meters away from an island there is just a drop to a bottomless ocean, no ocean exploring.

Animals will run around up in the air, clip through terrain. My character has shoes on, but stepping on a spiky starfish will poison me. Bumping a snake or lion-fish also poison.

This is far from a complete game, videos/screenshots make it look much better than what it is. Graphics are meh especially for the FPS you get.

If you are specifically looking for split-screen survival, buying on special is ok. Most of the cool mods appear to only work for player 1 tho.

They need to change the name, it is was implied as a spiritual successor to road rash; as someone who played a lot of road rash in its day, this is far behind in every way. Just super arcadey crap.

Multiplayer is pretty much non-exsistant.

Turning the game into subscription base one update at a time.

I was really looking forward to gta6 online, but it feels like r* greed will ruin that game too.

It was a good chill game with some good updates and some game breaking bugs here and there (mainly just some plant spawns would crash your game), I liked how breaking rocks made little pebbles to pickup and the last (good) update having like store factions. The dev then had a baby and I guess wanted their game to die? So they redesigned the world (the grass looks nice, that's pretty much it). You now compete for resources which with a low player base isn't so bad.

I do hope the dev brings back the very first small world, that one was the best and the original rocks.

I can't recommend the game in its current state. I do hope the dev makes further changes and brings it back to a previous state.
