One of the best survival games I've ever played 9/10.

The Forest is an amazing singleplayer and, especially, coop multiplayer experience that is a mix of survival and horror.
Defenitely one of the best coop and survival games published on Steam.

"Walk into a cutscene then walk back into another cutscene"

I wish they would have made the game not open world but that it instead had 6 or more levels for each episode like the old game used to have ("Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga").

Its such a shame since the gameplay is fun, the humor is good and the graphics are great; but it isn't close to the level of polish and perfection the first one had 6/10.

Also I think they shouldn't have added episode 7 to 9 since everyone hates them and they don't belong in the franchise. That would've given them more time to focus on the other episodes and add actual levels to them.

Stunning game both in graphics and gameplay but... there is something missing... the hardwork that FromSoftware used to put into these games is gone and honestly this is my least favorite FromSoftware game; worth 15€ but definitely not 60€.

Most of the gameplay is imported from DS3 and there is a lack of unique boss fights (around 130 boss fights total and only 6 of them are unique, making them less memorable).

The purpose of the player is exactly the same as in DS3 (hunt down the lords that denied the calling to their respective thrones).

Also FromSoftware please if you do make a DLC for this don't put repetitive bosses in it. Honestly I prefer having less but more unique boss fights 6.8/10.
Not worth the hype and the bucks.

Edit: However, the game is definitely a good experience and like I said, it has some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen in all of my years of playing videogames (although most of the landscape is empty and is filled with lots of repetitive fillers) and the gameplay is satisfying and smooth (even if it is directly imported from DS3).

Overall it is a good first soulslike experience but it is less memorable and fresh like the older games made by FromSoftware (like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Demon Souls and Sekiro) and it is a massive step down in the quality that the company used to deliver.

One of the best survival games i've played but it still needs some updates to become even more beautiful and detailed. 7/10
