Dead by Daylight is a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer horror game released in 2016 for PC and later ported to consoles. The game is extremely unfun, revolving around a gameplay loop which hasn't been largely changed since the earliest alphas, wherein the survivors try to repair five generators to escape the map while the killer attempts to hook them until they're sacrificed, though there are other ways the killers can use to game end the survivors, including slugging, moris, some addons for Michael Myers, and the powers of Pyramid Head and Sadako. To make up for this terrible core gameplay loop, the brilliant Canadian developers at Behaviour Studios have kept themselves relevant by collaborating with other horror properties to add new characters into the game including such classic slasher icons as Chucky, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Ghostface, and Jason Voorhees (OH WAIT THE OWNERS OF THE JASON IP DON'T WANT HIM BEING USED IN ANY NEW MEDIA LOL!!!). These "killers" are extremely toned down from their movie counterparts so as to not make gamers cry and ♥♥♥♥ themselves in an unbecoming rage when the killer kills them efficiently, which is ironic considering Dead by Daylight is touted as the single best gaming experience for horror movie fans since it has over 9000 licensed characters even though most of them can get reamed and creamed by a team of no-lifes using Discord as a crutch. Despite this, some killers have been controversial due to their powers being outright unfair, such as Legion's Feral Frenzy at launch and Nurse since 2016 (LOL).

Apart from adding new killers every 3 months (whether they turn out to be fail or even more fail), as of 2018 Behaviour has been keeping their budgets afloat by releasing an endless torrent of terrible cosmetics which can cost from $10 to $20 dollars. Keep in mind, the game itself has a $20 price tag, though usually goes on sale for $10, which brings into question why the game isn't free in the first place, since it literally has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ battle pass now and has so many pricey cosmetics. The answer will totally surprise you, which is that Dead by Daylight in its current state exists merely to siphon money from people willing to put thousands of hours into playing it, who are so consumed by the sunk cost fallacy that they've accepted the game is simply a part of their existence and life now and are willing to shell out the coin for really bad outfits. Dead by Daylight has existed for 8 years at this point, and according to the calculations of our scientists, they estimate that in its current, parasitic form, it may survive for up to an astounding three centuries. They've stressed that there will come a time when Behaviour has run out of licensed killers to use and thus will have to rely on adding real life serial killers to the game, in turn generating a volume of lulz not previously thought possible.

Some notable figures in the Dead by Daylight community have been part of controversies.
-OchiDO: An annoying and unfunny Spanish YouTuber, was found to have solicited nudes from underage fangirls of his.
-Samination: One of the first YouTubers to make animations about the game which were always pretty terrible, eventually started crying about the woke mob and got kicked out of the Fog Whisperer program in a lulzy display. He's pretty irrelevant now.
-TheShowstopper: Some guy who had the highest devotion score in the game, was imprisoned for 12 years on charges of sexual abuse.

Other figureheads of the community, though not engaged in serious controversy, remain generally fail nonetheless.
-No0b3: A guy who's probably just depressed and doesn't wanna spend his whole life making content only men with aspergers could laugh at, but who continues to create a mock sadness upon mention of his name within the community due to the fact that he hasn't uploaded consistently in years.
-Otzdarva: Another Spaniard, who no lifes DBD just like he no lifed Dark Souls before. Has a very strange propensity for making hours long videos about the mechanics of the game.
-Ayrun: Makes brainrot videos for little kids. Fail.
-ZubatLEL: A Canadian twink who's admittedly pretty good at the game, though that's attributable to the fact that the majority of his teenage years have been spent playing the game since launch.
-Scott Jund: Probably the lulziest of the bunch, this guy's entire social existence lies within DBD. Pays attention to new updates and drama nobody should care about within the community, and makes videos where he talks like a pseudointellectual about this terrible game.
