Easily the GotY and for me the most enjoyable game since Fallout NV.

I had doubts about this company making a game that had used a very specific engine, changing the perspective, the flow, the combat and of course - the rules. However, this really does feel like an upgrade to the series in terms of what games can do now, while retaining the soul of the originals.

Personally, I always preferred BG 1 and Icewind Dale to BG II, simply because the companions in BG 1 had less of their own quest lines, while in Icewind there were none because it was more of a combat game. I played all of them on release and was never so keen on BG II - every time a companion started giving their life story I'd roll my eyes and think 'here we go on another series of side quests!'

The inter-party relationship feels integral now, and I love the interaction.

Mechanics wise, I maybe benefited from playing Divinity? The new D&D rules caught me by surprise though, especially the races all having identical stats. Still, it is what it is, and I can see the pros as well as the cons.

My only gripe so far is that on the Steam Deck the inventory screen is weird and squashed, showing everyone's inventory as opposed to one person at a time as it does on the PC. It feels like it should be the other way around. Using the inventory on the Deck is a complete pain in the backside and on the eyes.

Other than that - yeah, it's good fun with a lot of replayability.

Further zoom in/out and all districts visible. If this is done I will be very happy.

They could basically make this game for every city and I will buy each one. It's just so nice.

No goals, no budgets, just sandbox. Love it.

If you ever played that old theme park game and tried to get the coasters to crash, or tried to drown your Sims in a no-ladder pool then this game is for you. You can just sit back and watch the mayhem unfold. I didn't do the tutorial, didn't use buildings and won on all the available maps just using a combination of traits, which means you can approach the maps in different ways.

The UI needs a lot of work. Right now it's messy. You can auto-track toons but it breaks off when they change actions. More of a zoom in would be nice too. Hopefully the way info is presented will be improved.

PS: Vampire gluttons FTW.

You can stab crocodiles, so that's a thing.

While Steam users who don't own the game were coming into the forum and moaning about it because they didn't intend to buy or play it (I know, right?) I am having a blast, so suck it, losers!

The best Incel-Triggering Programme ever. Ensure that nobody on your friends list is an angry, REEEing, rat-faced misogynist by activating WUMMENS.

It's cheesy as hell and some of the games are the most dreadful 90's FLASH/JAVA flashback experiances I've ever had i a Steam game, but my grandchildren love it, so I must give it the thumbs up.

For the price, it's entertaining and good value.

Playing this with two other people and not having a clue what we were doing was the best fun we've had on any game in a long time. Just good fun, gives the same feels as Lego World did the first time we played it. I wouldn't enjoy it solo - this is the very definition of multiplayer in that all the fun of it comes from the interaction between players and the environment. It's a shame it's not online multi but I guess PC's can't handle the physics in that way.

I've had no trouble filling an online game when hosting so far, and the folks that joined were kind enough to offer all sorts of tips and advice. Great community, and much appreciated by me. The gameplay itself is the nearest I can get to FPS Termie action, so that's alright in my book.
