Console Gamer on PC
Just retired after 20 years in the army, and looking to play the backlog of pc games I have acquired over the years. I typically play on console for my entire life but I am looking at making the switch out of my comfort zone so that I can be more competitive.

410 Hours played
I spent 40 hours on this solo, and this was my solo review:

Aug 2023 - Game seems fun at first, but it is more frustrating than anything I've ever played. One of the only games I can go out for a few hours, and get my ship sunk for whatever reason. Typically people rolling around as a group of 4 vs 1 when trying to get any money. Sink your ship, you lose the hours you spent in the game, and have nothing ever to show for it. Skills don't develop, despite watching YouTube videos.

I spent 40 hours on this playing with others in a crew, and below was my multiplayer review:

Nov 2023 - This is the way to go, but you have to make sure to get good people. Discord is supposed to be a good spot, not for me. You learn enough skills sailing around with other people, even if you are doing your own thing instead of whatever they would normally do. Skills develop naturally by watching others play, and participating in the things they do. YouTube videos begin to make more sense etc. I would prefer to play solo, but now with my skills improving by playing with others, and it translates into solo play. I may be able to handle this game yet.

Neither of these things are actually reviewing the game itself, the game itself appears to be mostly person based. So your experience may vary widely from mine.

*EDIT*
Jan 2026 - It's a couple of years later. I've played 5 seasons now on PS5, it says 1200 hrs played there, but I left the game on the title screen for weeks or months at a time so I dunno how accurate that is.

Anyway, now I just do what I want, fight everyone, sometimes sell loot, mess with people so much fun that I usually end up making videos out of the clips that I like to watch afterwards. I play how I want, and often on a similar level to some of my favorite creators for this game.

I have 69 hours on this game now. I used to play on arcade, ps vita, ps3, ps4, and ps5. Tried to play on PC now for less hardware lag, and I was able to submit my first run to speedrun.com playing this version of project diva in 69 hours. Love this game. Try it out if you haven't before, and you like rhythm games or this kind of music.

I feel happier knowing that I am able to have all my games in one place, and usually able to get them on for a huge sale on PC compared to consoles I've been playing all my life.
