Where do I begin? I loved the art that I saw on Twitter and then it turns out it's a game now! From the Japanese title 'Needy Girl Overload', I can tell right away what it kind of is about. I've been seeing posts, reviews of others on how this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, 'can fix her', 'make her more messed up', and it just pains me how majority will see it as just that if not informed about the subculture that she is in. The subculture is known as 'Menhera' in Japan, Don't personally agree with the Urban Dictionary definition of "suffering from a mental illness" since this puts it in a negative light, and just puts a bad name on it. Menhera is a way to express ourselves, that feel that belong in this subculture. From pastels, to gore, it is that underlining theme in the background that shows what this is about. Not to seek out attention, but to spread awareness and more of an 'acceptance', since this is originating from Japan. In Japan, mental health is not taken very seriously/shameful, hence all the 'statistics'; for the shameful part, many try to hide it, since they know they will get talked about and viewed differently about it. There is also a character called "Menhera-Chan", created by 'Bisuko Ezaki', to spread awareness, but many have different opinions on them (bad and good). I don't want to keep on rambling, I simply want to inform and spread awareness of mental health, so that it can stop being viewed in a negative light.
