No, I don't review games often. But, then again, it is far less than often a game is worth a review. Be it good or bad, only a few speak to me enough to bother. This is one of the very, very few that I would stake my reputation on. This game is fantastic; never have I seen a game incorporate character development, proper combat, attention to detal, and a story so successfully as in this game.

Some may say, should they choose to be unpleasant, that certain surfaces aren't polished and the story isn't wildly indulgent. In reality, for what it is and what it was designed to be, this game far exceeds any AAA game on the market in the three aforementioned respects of the last paragraph.

The story isn't just a journey from point A, to point B. The story is more on the trials of a schizophrenic girl as she completes a journey a sane person would often not even attempt. The merit is not to say this game is a grab at some sort of Social Justice campaign, or has an agenda of some sort but, instead, is to impress "gravity of situation." An attempt near perfectly executed.

Yes, you need to play this game. You need to hear this game. Maybe those of weak minds would be unnerved by the voices constantly talking but, if you listen carefully, her thoughts are complete. Wild and seemingly incoherent, but complete in their own right. The voices will speak to you. The voices will guide you; they will guide you like reason would guide the sane. The voices will warn you; they will warn you like intuition and feelings would warn the sane.

The atmosphere is so well polished, from every respect. I would say I only put my stamp of approval on around ten or so games/trilogies on the market, past or present.

As with Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, I happily place this game on my most recommended list. I approve this game as one of the best games I have ever played, and I have only just begun. Yes, this is worth every bit of full price.

Another great game from an outstanding studio.
