I haven't left a review on a game in years but this deserves it. Balatro is one of the most relaxed and interesting roguelikes I've ever played. I'm only a few hours in at the time of writing - but it's wonderful.

Initially, the price tag seemed slightly high - but I assure you it's well worth it. This is an extremely well executed concept with great mechanics, gameplay, and music. It's exactly what you'd expect from the store page and more. The only thing I'd like to see in the future is mod support for custom cards or perhaps modes for additional content - although in it's current state it's certainly not lacking.

Early Access Review
Overall:
COD movement, Tarkov customisation, and a battlefield feel. Somehow a lot better than most triple A shooters in awhile.

There is a lot to appreciate here and although it may not be up to everyone's standards yet, it's very fun. Lots of variety and lots of customisation. Look into gameplay online to know if it's right for you. This game has big potential. Loving the UI so far. Also if you're new to the game, unlock your frame-rate and turn screen shake all the way down. Thank me later :)

The Launcher:
A lot of people are having gripes with this game due to the external launcher. This is similar to other games like Planetside 2 and Warface and though it's an outdated method it's not inherently terrible. The way the launcher downloads isn't the best at the moment so there could be improvements there in the future.

The Gameplay:
There is still work to be done in some areas of the game but overall it feels really good. It's a lot more grounded and stable than BF2042 and it's going to be free next year too! Some may want to wait for an audio rework to come (it's quite bad right now) but besides that if you're looking for a fun modern military shooter, this is it! Animations and movement need some polish. Customisation options are good!

The Future:
In it's current state, it's very fun and the overall presentation is well done. Looking forward to continued support from the devs. This game has huge potential!

A Short and To The Point Review:
This review will be excluding optimization complaints and spoilers...

DEATHLOOP is the first game that has truly exceeded my expectations in a few years. If you're looking for a super-powered power-trip in large-scale open environments, well-written dialogue, and a taste of Dishonored: you are going to love this game. It took me 22 hours to beat (steam offline mode) and I'm not going to stop there.

The best way I could explain this game is a perfect mix between Dishonored, Doom, and We Happy Few. The universe you play in is vibrant and fun while remaining sensical. The guns are punchy and responsive, complimented by stealth mechanics that are familiar yet refreshing. To top it all off, environments are beautifully designed with care and it shows everywhere. This game is extremely intuitive and genuinely feels like a step into next-gen mechanics and storytelling. Although there are only 4 main locations, the time in which you enter each of them can lead to what feels like a completely different experience.

This game is Dishonored with guns, no forgiveness, and the freedom to kill as you please.

The Pro's :

- Carefully crafted levels
- Beautiful art style
- Likeable cast
- Well done voice acting
- Captivating story
- Fluid combat
- Powers make you feel powerful
- Guns are punchy and personal
- Enemies are not spongy
- Custom builds are encouraged and varied
- You are always learning more
- You MUST adapt
- The loop experience is intuitive and handled with care
- Not as repetitive as originally expected
- Online invasions really enhance the experience (when they work - see below)

The Con's :

- Invasions are peer to peer (Lots of noticeable network lag on both ends)
- Old Void Engine (though improvements are clear on my end)
- AI detection is slightly off in close radius (possibly intentional)
- Controls need some adjusting
- ADS sensitivity is very low by default
- Very little difficulty ramping
- No difficulty tuning

Setup:

I was playing on an RTX 2060 SUPER with 16GB of ram and an AMD Ryzen 7 2700. I was able to maintain a steady 60 - 90fps on very high/ultra. This was considerably better than my experience playing Dishonored 2. Results may vary.

Sailing into oblivion,

my friend and I encountered a few sailors.

We set sail, ignorant to what we might find.\

We laughed, we cried, and ultimately we sailed half an hour into the void.

This game will make you cry tears of joy. From screaming at sheep on a beach to sailing into the endless horizon. This game is for those who want a TRUE sailing experience :)

Best coop vs. game I've played in a long time. My friends and I have mastered it to a point where every shot is scarily accurate and we roleplay during battles. 10/10. Would like workshop weapons support

This could be one of the best games you've ever played in years.

INSTEAD; Take-two have ruined the modding community and taken players hostage in exchange for Microtransactions.

Vehicles added to the game aren't accesible in single player. They're available online but for a price. A price they want you to pay with microtransactions...

If you wanted to buy everything in online you would need to spend well over $70 million in game dollars (Trust me I have but not with microtransactions ;) )
That is equivalent in rockstar's eyes to a smooth $1400+

It's ridiculous

Only buy if modding comes back. Take-two deserve nothing until then. This whole thing is so so stupid.

I went into this game with relatively high expectations. Those expectations were passed and brought to an even greater level of curiosity and simplicity. You should go into this game with little to know knowledge. I left with goosebumps and a want for more.

Thank You.
