A very fun game, it's obvious that a lot of love was poured into it. There's a good variety of play styles and enemy types, and the demo showcases the game's features quite well. I haven't finished the demo yet at 2 hours playtime, though I did replay a few missions because I liked them and to try out other kinds of builds or to grind for new weapons. The guns all feel very impactful and there are plenty of tense moments in the battles, I never felt like they were too easy, but the difficulty is all very well done, it never felt unfair when I lost, it was always because I didn't tune my build well enough or didn't maneuver around the battlefield well enough. Highly suggested!

Flat, uninteresting combat, horrible pay to win systems, story so bad you'll break the skip button. Cute graphics, but that's it. The fact that servers didn't break on launch day should tell you a lot about how exciting the game is. It didn't even mange to keep me playing for one hour.

It's part of the FPS subgenre where the optimal play style is jumping around like a crazy person. I strongly dislike this trend in FPS games.

A really unique game, with no equal. The community is what makes or breaks this kind of game, so if you're having a bad time, just talk to people. Most of them are pretty helpful. Find a new-player-friendly regiment (guild/clan). I strongly suggest watching a few videos and/or streams about the game first, to get a feel for it, as it's unique and might definitely not be your cup of tea. The devs are listening to the community, they're carefully watching how each war plays out and are adjusting the game in response, and every few months, sizable upgrades might change how you play your particular specialization.

Every bullet, every tank, every gun, every bandage you use, were all made by players, were all moved by players from the backlines to the frontlines, and were all placed there for other players to use. The depth of organization required to win a war is mind-boggling. You'll never feel like just another dude running around, because even a single player can make a difference in a skirmish, can help push a front, can help bring supplies to a bunker. For me, it's a masterpiece of a game.

Stop paying for pay to win games. No pay to win is the only acceptable choice.

Prosperous Universe is an incredibly unique game. I've played twice some years ago, before the latest reset, and this is the third time I'm playing. There's nothing quite like it and I keep coming back to it. So, what's this game?

The game is essentially a market and production simulation. The simulation is quite deep, with an unbelievable breadth of stuff you can make, as well as quite a depth of specialization. There's no way a single person can do everything themselves (one of the mistakes I've made myself), so buying and selling on the markets is essential.

Prosperous Universe is quite slow. It's slower than most browser games. Most of the fun comes from planning your bases, studying the market and the various production chains to find what would be best for you. The community is awesome, they've made intuitive online planner tools, pre-made base-planning spreadsheets, and they're quite willing to answer questions in the in-game chat and out-of-game official discord. All these are available on the game's official wiki, so the devs are also quite legit, helping the new players discover the community-made tools.

What I find great is how viable each production path is. You might need to study the markets and find what starting planet is best for you, and that could be hard for a new player--however, there's an in-game command that resets your account (COLIQ) exactly because it's not impossible to pick a planet that doesn't quite fit what you want to do. Not because the game doesn't explain it, mind you, since the video tutorials (if you have the patience to watch them) and the in-game tutorial contracts are good enough, with the help of the community--it's just that complicated.

There's free accounts, there's paid accounts, and there's "basic" accounts which are paid accounts that reverted back to free. Free accounts are limited to five planetary bases (I've been playing for a couple of months and have just two, planning my third), two spaceships (still plenty for me right now), and can't use the local market (player-to-player direct trading, and yes, this is the one that stings the most for me). It's not pay-to-win, not even pay-for-convenience. Consider the free account a trial, and the paid account the actual game. However, 8 EUR a month for a browser game is too much in my opinion. Even though I love the game and I'm playing every day, and thinking about my future expansion every day, I can't see myself paying 8 EUR a month for a browser game. Half that, possibly, but in my country, that's more than what I could justify for a browser game. I need to mention and give props to the devs because this is not a subscription. You don't run the risk of forgetting to cancel. You prepay for pro time. I believe this is done to great detriment on part of the devs, but it's to the benefit of the customer, so it's really great and should be applauded.

So, is this for you? If you like Factorio and other factory-management games, EVE Online and other sci-fi simulation games, and idle games in general, you should give this a try. It's free. Thank you for reading my review. o7

A great improvement on an amazing game. Truly, the best simulation/base building game that has ever been made. Time has no meaning as you play for "just one more season." Also, actual, full game is still available for free, just without the pretty graphics.

EDIT: I've since stopped playing EVE. I've played for years, but several changes over the years have made me feel like it's not worth it any more. To name one of hundreds, you can buy skill injectors with ISK, which you can buy with real money. That means that with enough real money, you can have any kind of character in a state to rival the oldest players. When ISK and real money stop being connected in any way, EVE stands a chance to be a good game again. Until then, it's pay-to-win trash.

Don't play this game. Spend your time playing a game that's worth it, made by a company that cares about its player base.

OLD REVIEW, which I'll leave up as a bittersweet reminder that EVE used to be good, perhaps a decade ago:

EVE Online is an amazing game. But it's not for everyone. I recommend everyone give it a try, but you have to be warned of several things:

1) EVE is a tough game. Scams and espionage are part of it, and no fight is "fair".
2) On the moment you press "login", you accept player versus player conflict. Market, industry, mining, there's pvp in everything. If you make and sell something, that means someone else's items didn't sell. If you mine an asteroid, that's an asteroid someone else didn't get to mine.
3) You can't judge EVE by playing for a few minutes or even a few hours. It has a free-to-play tier, so take your time. Play for 20-30 hours. Learn how to fit your ships, try all the activities it offers. Judge how much fun you're having at the end of those hours, after you've learned the basics.
4) Don't be afraid to ask for guidance, but avoid asking for more direct help. Handouts will hinder you much more than they'll help you. Make your own ISK (the in-game currency) and learn to lose it. Ships are ammo, they're not eternal. If they were, the industrialists would be out of work.
5) Do the tutorial and all the career agent missions, even if it doesn't look like it covers an area of the game you usually like. It'll allow you to get to know the game, and you might find something you enjoy that you didn't expect.

For me, EVE Online is the best MMO out there. It has ruined all other MMO games for me. There is nothing that contains quite so much content, not even close. There have been attempts, and there are many in the making, but for now, EVE reigns supreme. Why? Because it allows you to do whatever you want. Do I want to mine? I can just mine. Do I want to go out and hunt miners? There's no need to change characters, level an alt, or even abandon my career as an industrialist, I can just fit a ship and go out and hunt. You see I've been playing for 1000+ hours there, and I haven't been bored for long once. If I'm bored, I do something else. There's always something else.

Another amazing element of the game is its community. Almost every player is eager to help new players, and there are many, many good corporations and alliances. If you are having trouble with the game, seek out a corporation. I won't plug mine here, as I wholeheartedly believe that each player needs to find a place they belong in. If you see that you've been playing for a few days, and you enjoy the game, get in a good corp. It will make it ten times more fun.

One last thing to remember: the company behind EVE is often critiqued harshly. They are very slow to act, they often ruin things players enjoy in their attempt to "fix" them, and they often implement different things than what the community (or logic) dictates. Don't get involved in the whole "CCP sucks" logic, though, nor allow bitter veterans (bittervets) of the game to lessen your enjoyment. It's a company, they're not gods, nor are they demons. In the end, ask yourself: do you enjoy playing? If so, play. If not, don't play.

Thank you for reading. Hit me up in-game if you need any information, under the character name "Quetzalcoatl III". I'm often mining.

This is an excellent game. It is full of potential and has an active community.

Almost all the maps are player-made, and most of them are quite good.

Fun to play and addictive.
