Cooperative multiplayer shooter - like Left 4 Dead meets Minecraft - fully destroyable environments, hoard shooter, designed for co-op play but able to be played solo if you want. Love the vivid colors and the soundtrack. Also has full mod support. Also they keep coming out with updates every once in a while. Strangely addictive. Fully recommend! ROCK AND STONE!

Early Access Review
(As of update 7) Pros: extremely fun and addictive gameplay loop balanced between exploration and factory building. The game does not insult your intelligence and doesn't hand hold you. The game gives you total freedom to do whatever the hell you want with the tools it gives you. Cons: Not enough options for power. They have held back options for power deliberately based on their vision of the game. Also I got really annoyed by how much space their splitters/mergers take up. Fortunately both of these issues are manageable by the fact the game has full mod support. I heartily recommend playing this with Refined Power which gives you a lot more options for power.

So up front let me say: I'm an anime fangirl. So the idea of a Souls-like that's in an anime aesthetic is right on the money for me. (My copy was a gift from a friend, who paid full price for it, and we both have no affiliation whatsoever with Namco Bandi.)

PROS: The character creator is, in a word, amazing, and rivals some of the greatest character creators in games I've seen including the late City of Heroes. It could use more outfits, and I'd be willing to give them money for more outfits. However if you want to make the Waifu or Husbando of your dreams, you CAN. The game has 3-4 endings and I did get the good ending because I was all about hunting down all the little Vestiges and restoring memories. I could have explored the Depths more as they are a thing that is there but there was no real reason to do it while doing the main story so I kinda missed out on that EXP and Haze in lower levels. The story is ENTIRELY compelling. It had me locked in and theorizing the whole time from start to finish. I saw a lot of people criticizing the slow-walk memory sequences and I disagree, I like the slow-walk memory sequences though I understand how being forced to WALK through them can be annoying to some. I found them to be entirely compelling ways to learn about characters and wanted to find them all.

CONS: The multiplayer component is buggy and hard to use, doesn't work sometimes at all, and only allows for 1 friend to play the game with you at a time. The Blood Veil mechanic has a cool animation set but it could use some kind of indicator or gauge to make it easier to see when you are getting close to a window to use it. As a girl gamer I found the female characters to be flat (character-wise) and uninteresting and only there for suit the male gaze of twelve year old boys. Eva is a terrible character and was clearly written by a dude. My favorite female character whose entire arc was that there were an incomplete person as they were the only one that had an arc and changed over the course of the story. All other characters arrive in the story fully formed (en media res) and don't change at all except for that one female character mentioned before.

SUMMARY: I would recommend this game as my criticisms are mostly nitpicks and I had fun and enjoyed my first play-through and would play it again. I hope Namco Bandi does more games in this series and maybe even a crossover game with [[*SPOILERS*]]!!

FPS:TD - First Person Tower Defense, turn based, with 4 player Co-Op. By a little swedish company called Coffee Stain Studios, this game is a LOT of fun. If you like FPS, and like shooting things with friends, this is for you. If you are a PVP-holic, this is NOT for you. This one is about teaming up with 1-3 friends and with towers and your handy weapons blowing the snot out of invading aliens. It's turn based so it's simple to wait between rounds for friends before resuming the murder. Highly recommend this game - it's a lot of fun! Get the soundtrack edition if you are like me and love game music!

This game would be a LOT of fun to play with a friend in the Multiplayer Campaign mode... if it didn't crash every 20 minutes. It's horrificly buggy, crashes constantly, and needs to be defragged and verified constantly. Fantastic if you like history, but constant crashes, long load times, and buggy interface, it should be avoided until they fix it.

Aion is a very very very pretty game, but unless you like PVP and endless grinding... it's also very very very boring.

This game was a lot of fun for the first 20 levels and then just got really boring. They really enjoy their constant movie and TV-show references. Some of the pros of this game were that it's free to play (kinda), the Nemesis System was a lot of fun, has a very cool teleport travel power, and that's about it. Beyond that you are stuck in the same three or four environments for most of the game. AFter 20-30 levels it's all samey grind quests, smashing the same four or five villain groups over and over again. While a pretty game, it didn't really feel heroic to me. Play it if you can tolerate the FTP limitations. The FTP limitations killed the game for me by denying me access to all of my characters. (Plus there seems to be a bug with the achievements system. Though I earned many achievements, none are reflected on my steam profile.)

Portal 2 picks up where Portal 1 left off. Let me say up front: IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED PORTAL 1, then play Portal 1 FIRST or half this will make no sense at all. However the game is a LOT of fun and a great brain teaser. It makes you feel smarter for figuring out a lot of very difficult physics puzzles that require timing, logical thinking, and exploring your environment fully. If you like exploring or puzzle games, you'll love this. If you love FPS, this isn't really an FPS, it's more of a First Person Puzzle Game. I highly recommend this to dedicated gamers and casuals alike.

Mass Effect 2 was a significant graphical upgrade on ME1, introduced many new characters, lots of new worlds, and continued Bioware's epic storyline. The Mass Effect series continues to be a beacon of good writing, good locations, good characters, good music, and good immersion. The only downsides were the fact that some of the good stuff is only available via DLC, and the queer romance options were not available. Some of the 'upgrades' are a bit useless and I wonder why they are even in the game, like the useless mineral scanner upgrade. ME2 replaces the crappy vehicle sections with mineral scanning... and new vehicle sections that aren't required to complete the main plot anymore. On the whole if you like KOTOR or ME1, you'll love this.
