So, my beaver town was rockin' at ~40-50 pests. We were well prepared for the drought and had nearly 1000 food in the bank. So, I did what beavers do, and built a couple beaver dams.

Next, I got distracted building the beaver villa apartments. Featuring fancy suites and luxurious pent houses. We were gonna make some dime out of this prime real-estate. Population spiked up to 70 and we were prepped to sell. But then all of a sudden the drought hit us hard, and the food/water began to plummet. There was nothing I could do but watch as beavers dropped dead left and right. Their poor helpless bodies strewn about the barren fields, empty water tanks, and dusty storage buildings. My soon to be be beaveropolis of comfort and relaxation became a vacant hub of starvation. The merciless hard cold reality, didn't let off until a measly 25 beavers remained.

I realized that the new dam I built cut off the water supply to my now x-beavers.

10/10 would dam up the water supply again.

Can't rejoin games if you crash.
If you change microphone to push to talk in-game you get booted from the game.
Tutorial is not skippable. It has tonnes of text nobody will ever read. They could teach the same introduction in five seconds rather than five minutes.

Been wanting to pick this up since its release. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed in this game.

Negatives:
- The menu UI is a catastrophe (The mod "Content Manager" fixes this).
- Graphics and controller settings are not configurable during a race in the escape menu. In-fact, you have to back ALL the way out.
- Controller configuration restrictions. Can't do clutch on a controller (without mods).
- The graphics are terrible.
- No dynamic driving line.

Dynamic driving line is a must have for beginners. It makes it quicker to learn how well a car brakes. Otherwise, I spend the first couple hours with a car just going off the end of every corner and that's no fun. The static driving line is basically useless as its general guide to braking regions just plays reverse psychology with my brain which means it's better to just have it off.

For a game that's supposed to be the epitome of racing it feels like the devs didn't care about the experience or anything past the track and the cars. I spent most of my time setting up the controls rather than racing. The only reason I'm not refunding the game is because I bought it on sale and at least I might change my mind later on. I also wonder if car physics are even that realistic. In Shift 2 I can feel the car and the road. In this, not so much.

Great game.

Some criticise the story/live-action parts to be too slow with not enough action. Perhaps a fair argument. However, I found the story thrilling and immersive. Quantum Break tanks my PC at ultra settings more than Shadow of the Tomb Raider, this is surprising as I run Tomb Raider in stereoscopic 3D.

Definitely the best merging of video game and live-action that I have seen. The industry has gone far since "Plumbers don't where ties" if you don't know what I am referring too, you do not want to bother looking it up. There does exist an Angry Video Game Nerd episode on it though.

Things that could have been improved:
- Controls. I use keyboard/mouse for fighting and controller for the more laid back sections. As such, I can never remember which buttons do what. The cooldown UI on the right should contain the corresponding buttons.
- Powers feel janky, they could have been refined to be smoother. As such, I never use them except when absolutely needed. But that's more due to my play style.
- One section has lots of rocks outside I was constantly getting stuck on while trying to dodge enemies.
- Very surface-level upgrades and the required material are not necessarily in your path. I think this could have been made more interesting but it's not a big part of the game anyway.
- They could have reviewed what function the live-action can do that the video-game cannot and tried to focus on that the most. As such, they likely could have filmed much more short clips for the games dialogue and left the action to the game. However, this idea would take the game in a completely different direction and the one they took is mostly fine.
- Sometimes dialogue or live-action dialogue could be more 'realistic' with more emotions or more realistic choice of words. Like if something really bad happens the character response doesn't freak out enough.

Despite the above, I'd give this game 8/10 Bananas. Mostly because I had fun, enjoyed the live-action parts, and the story was interesting. Those with short attention spans or those who don't care about stories may not like this game. However, I didn't find the game boring except a couple parts near the beginning.

Edit: The final boss scene is very tedious due to stuff just happening and not understanding what's going on. Also, they made it difficult to know where the bad guy ran off too. Very bad gameplay mechanic as you just keep dying for no reason. Dying in this scene is very annoying as you have to go through sort of "two introductory" things and then you're fighting the boss again. Imagine playing Zelda OOT and if you die at the boss you go back three rooms. They lose a banana for this. The ending was disappointed too. Very unresponsive controls and repetitive gameplay; cool at first, a chore at the end.

Nonsense from another reviewer:
"This game is better than Control" this is a completely different game than Control. I would argue Control felt more refined than Quantum Break. If I compared the storylines I think Control's plotline has much more depth, mystery, and lore to it.
Edit: Control was better in every way. Responsive controls and fun gameplay.

The minimum requirements say the game supports DirectX 11 and Vulkan. However, they only support Vulkan for Linux and not Windows as well. Plus, the game does not run on Windows 7 or 8.1. What's the point of using DX11 if it doesn't work on 7 and 8.1?

The only reason the game does not launch on windows 7 and 8.1 is because they have intentionally locked those systems out. There's no extra overhead. Someone just made a bad decision at Sega, and I hope they reverse that decision.

This is quite possibly the most boring game I have ever played aside from point and clicks.

It's probably just not my type.

Edit: Don't use Discord voice-chat. Use in-game chat. The game is fun, takes some time to appreciate it (This used to be a "No" to recommending this game).
