I liked the game when it was first released, even with less content than was promised since I understood the issues the company had to deal with. I hoped they would continue to fix and develop it, and they delivered on that hope.

The game is still very casual to me, which is what I was hoping for. I don't need a detailed combat simulator; just a casual exploration and survival experience. I look forward to what else they come up with in future content releases.

I also look forward to, maybe, hopefully, eventually, being able to land my ships on floor or roof tiles... not just landing pads and bare ground.

Game had good potential but has been abandoned by the developers.
There is no moderation in their Discord and no moderation on the official servers so hax and exploits and griefers are plentiful, when even they care enough to log in..

Ok. So.. The game is great. I really liked the aesthetic of art, sound, and music. The story is not bad, either, for what it is. To me, it is challenging enough and there are options to do that have minor storyline consequences. There is only a single issue I recently ran into..

THEY SAVE THE GAME IN THE REGISTRY. (Unity flaw, though there are workarounds)

So, if you format your machine, and you didn't back up the registry entry, you're screwed.
If your computer crashes and you can't access the registry files, you're screwed.
If you are moving to another platform, you're screwed.

The learning curve is a bit higher than many other open games path games like this, but is fully worth it if you like to build and have the imagination for it. Both novices and experts can find plenty of enjoyment out of it.

I enjoy this game as a solo experience or with friends and family on private servers. Pretty much the only way to enjoy these open world survival games these days is privately because of the rampant cheating going on in the official servers. Conan is no exception.

I would recommend this game within my description of how I play, but if you want to utilize the official servers, I'd say nah.

Decent survival experience for a small team. It does get a bit laggy in cities or when riding a minibike so if use the bike or go to city often you want to lower quality settings to compensate, unfortunately.

Zed intelligence is fairly low and annoying. The current twice daily wandering horde really has to go. It only needs to happen every couple days or so.

If you buy in, you really want to make sure you backup your save often in case you, too, get a crash that wipes a long term game..

Overall I approve, especially if you have friends to join you for the potential value of time/dollar.

This game is abandoned. All promises have been broken since SoE screwed us over by selling off to an investment firm shortly after the EA release. An act that was clearly done to keep the highest sale price possible.

Since then they had added the BR mode, seperated them, switched from Freemium to pay to play, removed items from selling on the marketplace leaving our inventories full of trash items, then stopped updating the game in favor of BR mode.

DGC is not to be trusted or supported. RIP to their games currently in a downward spiral.


Editing: One thing I do commend them on is keeping our trash items in inventory tradeable so we can trade them out to alt accounts to clean up the inventory screen, if desired. Unlike a certain other BR style game...

Great game. Had fun. Not in any way pay to win as far as I could see.
Rocket spam is still key to winning which is the only negative I have on the gameplay.
Absolutely HATE rocket machine guns in these games. No skill to use at all.

Overall I may not recommend it, though. Why?

Yes, it is that much of a problem to me that I may give it a negative review if it happens a second time on my second try. It would also then be uninstalled and ignored.

As promised, I tried this game again, and again when I quit it opened my web browser. The game was promptly uninstalled.
