Game is barely good enough for me to recommend it.

Atmosphere is great, graphics are great and gunplay is fine, but I have big problems with story and pacing combined with the length of the game.
While I enjoy the atmosphere and slow pacing, them combined with 3 hours length means that barely anything happens in the story before the end credits are already rolling. As much as I like what is in here, it feels like playing through the first third of the full game before developers ran out of time and money and slapped the game with ending to get it on store shelves.

If you still want to get it in preparation for the upcoming sequel, get it in deep, deep discount. Maybe together with sequel it will feel like having played two thirds of a full game!

If a game could be a fast food burger.

Game is decent fun and has easily approachable, pretty good-looking racing in meaningless career mode. There is nothing wrong with it, but there is also nothing special about it.

Get the game in deep sale, drive around with gamepad and stop when you are satisfied.

Well-written and thoroughly entertaining tribute to early Internet.

Remake done right. Keeps everything that is unique about the original, while managing to update and improve on the clunky stuff keeping people from enjoying the original game, without losing the spirit and feeling set in 1994.

My game of the year 2023.

At this point the game is not worth the price.

While the game does have many parts to make a great game out of, some serious issues really make a mess of the whole experience.

Biggest issue with the game is the suspect AI. Every suspect regardless of background and situation acts like terrorists with death wish, and will almost never surrender despite being surrounded by the whole team of SWAT. This issue is made worse with the same AI having aimbot-like reaction times and accuracy, leading the whole game being hilariously unfun to play. This also has compunding issue with the new commander-mode, as now your SWAT-members will be in need of therapy far too quick due to endless murder-rampages happening map after map.

On another note, the game's replayability did take a big hit after Early Access due to decision to remove all the alternative game modes from the 1.0-version. I found the alternative map layouts and situations found in the different game modes really refreshing, while also limiting the size of the maps to much more decent sizes. I really hope the alternative layouts could be patched back in at later phase, as they brought much needed mission variety.

While in desperation for a SWAT-sequel I ended up playing multiple playthroughs through the game with the absolutely mandatory No Crack for AI-mod, even then the game stumbles through and resembles more of classic Rainbow Six-style "Shoot first, ask later" terrorist hunt than anything SWAT-related.

At this point I would recommend to skip this game and wait to see if the suspect AI will be fixed with updates, and instead use the saved money to buy both Zero Hour and Swat 4 (with Elite Force-mod) instead. Ready or Not has a lot of potential to be a great game, but at its current state I really can't recommend the game without a seriously deep discount.

VR-performance is exceedingly terrible, AI-drivers keep on causing accidents with silly brainfarts and game is generally really buggy. It never does feel great losing hard-fought win with first season Haas in Coop-career due to EA-server disconnect.

Sadly, the most unfun Civilization I've played so far.
After 57 hours tinkering and trying out different settings and play styles and winning matches with Domination, Diplomacy and Religion victories, the game hasn't managed to surprise me nor engage me in any shape and form.

Does not really feel like a sequel to fifth game, instead feeling like a sidestep with changes to some game mechanics but not really managing to improve on already middling fifth game in any meaningful way.

If the developers of ROTT13 would have made a Doom/Serious Sam-clone, it would be this game.

As a game it's decent janky shooter, but the price is really steep for the length of the game. Being able to finish the campaign on hardest initially available difficulty in less than 2 hours is a serious problem.

If you are interested and you find the game heavily discounted, the game is decent fun.

After years of following the development of the mod and playing it when it came back in 2012, playing the full release of Black Mesa is a joy. The game is a delightful experience throughout from the start all the way until the end of the original release of the mod. And then starts Xen.

First moments of Xen are great, you get to see the beautiful new version of Xen, with the atmospheric music pulling you in the experience. But the problem is that gameplaywise, Xen is filled with lots of repetition. Endless fights with the same enemy-types, repeated puzzles and the levels that feel like they will never end make playing Xen a chore through and through. Despite the sour taste left by Xen, I can highly recommend the game due to brilliance of the earlier Black Mesa-chapters.

From now on, I will be leaving my future playthroughs right at the end of the Lambda Core and enjoy the beautiful work done on Xen-chapters through the screenshots filling my hard drive.
