The game kind of forces you to go at a faster pace than I am accustomed to, as the boss chases you down throughout the level, and once you defeat the boss you're forced to continue to the next level immediately, I wish you would be allowed to stay on a level after you defeat the boss just to finish things up. However that is the only issue that I have with the game. It is really fun to play regardless and seems to hold a lot more potential.

I haven't played for too long so this is mostly just a first impressions type review. I'm making a review already because the game seems very promising and I can already assume that I'm going to like it. But there are definitely a few (mostly easily fixable) turn-offs that I hope get resolved as I play further.

The first problem I have is something you see pretty regularily in vr games, but makes the experience so bad for me that it's sometimes enough to make me completely disregard the rest of the game in order to avoid. I'm talking about this games method of keeping the player from sticking their head in places it doesn't belong; if you lean into a wall your character is pushed back as you lean forward, which can be really jarring, especially if what is preventing you from leaning forward is something like a waist-high fence that you in real life can very easily lean over. In this game your body is always assumed to be right under your head, so leaning is not a thing. This becomes epecially intrusive when you're for example trying to reach something on the other side of a table but keep being pushed back as you lean closer. I wish you could at least have an option for people who play standing still to keep your in game body from moving when your head moves, since if you don't plan on walking around that doesn't matter anyways.

I also have an issue with the handling of weapons which I will keep short. Firstly the angle at which you hold guns can be a bit weird. While I assume it is realistic if you line up the gun handle with your controller, some guns (mainly pistols/one handed ones) require you to bend your wrist very far in order to aim. I'm guessing this is ok if you use controllers that aren't bound to your hands like the index controllers are, because then you can just grip the contoller differently and be fine. but when the controller is basically glued to your hand and you are forced to rotate your wrist fully it can end up hurting after a while. Another issue I have with the gunplay is the virtual stock: I don't understand how it works and usually just end up not being able to aim at all with it on, which is a problem because the guns definitely shake way more in this game than they do in any other vr games I play.

The most frustrating part about this game is knowing the fact that I will never manage to experience all of the content it has to offer.

Edit: I am currently experiencing all of the content it has to offer. Turns out if you just try enough times, sooner or later you'll make it work. Also huge props to FuryForged on YouTube for teaching people how to Git Gud.

I was going to write a well thought out review, but I suppose it would make more sense to put in as much effort into this review as Bethesda put into this port.

It feels more immersive to play Skyrim outside VR with a controller. This dogsh*t isn't worth a tenth of what they're asking for.

The controls are too clunky, the weapons have too much drag and the game seems to be very poorly optimized. (This is all based off of the time that I played and my own preferences, you might agree or disagree with any of my points, I mainly mean to try and give you a better idea if this game would fit your preferences or not)

I made the mistake of cranking the quality up to "very high" to see how it looked, as soon as I did my fps went down to below 1 and stayed there constantly for the next 10 minutes of which I spent the entire time trying to undo the change (You could probably understand how it could be hard to navigate a handheld menu in vr with sub-one fps). I have a bit above the recommended system requirements.

As far as I've seen there is no way to decrease the degree of snap-turns, and as I can't easily turn around in my playspace the current setting is way too high for me to be able to play comfortably. So if you normally play with the snap-turning down like me then be aware that precise movements wont be as easy as in some other games. You run by swinging your hands back and forth, you can't seem to run when holding a two-handed weapon and you can only run in the direction you are looking, meaning that there is no way that I've found to look to the side or behind you while running.

Lastly your arms movement speed is based on the weight of whatever you are holding, this sounds good on paper but it can be very annoying when your character doesn't match the moves you are making. Enemies also have too much health; I would stab people in the head and chest multiple times (sometimes close to or even over a dozen times) and watch them stand straight up afterwards.

If this seems like a game you could enjoy I would always recommend you to buy it and see for yourself and just refund it if you don't like it. On top that if I said anything in this review that is objectively wrong; please tell me in the comments so that I can edit the review.

It's actually fun, and pretty damn long, definitely worth the money... Also like 100 *special* pictures that comes with it.
