I had a lot of fun with Silksong, Act 1 and 2 nothing was overly hard. Got to the "end" of the game within around 35 hours. Had a good time but then decided to push toward 100% (I did not get there but I at least got the true ending). I have to say parts of act 3 were just genuinely unfun. The difficulty is over the top toward the late late game that I found myself just sort of pushing through it to say I could do it, not because I was enjoying it.

That being said the devs clearly put their love into this game and for 20 dollars it is a steal and definitely in contention for game of 2025. Despite my gripes about Act 3 the final boss of act 3 is one of the most fun and well designed bosses in a Metroidvania in my opinion. Definitely continues where Hollow Knight left off and cleanly sits in the top 5 Metroidvanias ever made if not in place 1-2.

Definitely worth picking up if you enjoy Hollow Knight, Metroidvanias, or just supporting extremely well made indie games. My only request to dev would be tune down act 3 ever so slightly or make the hitboxes for damage on contact a little more forgiving. I'll probably have nightmares about the ant queen for the rest of my life.
