I am not completely sure if I actually recommend this game, but I mark it positive anyway.
First off, weather you should buy the game or not:
- Do you like the Star Wars franchise?
- Did you like Jedi Knight Academy?
- Did you like Prince of Persia?
- Do you like to slice and dice things with sharp things?
If you answered at leas 2 of these Questions with yes, you will most likely like the game.
The question is: Do you think spending 60 Bucks for 16 hours of gameplay (20 at max, if you really, really want to 100% it)? If I would’ve known the game is so short, I would’ve waited for a sale.
Anyway, gameplay:
The planets are basically corridors, which are meshed together nicely. The surroundings look, sound and feel really good, as well as handling the character most of the time. The fights were more difficult than you would expect, but they are fun. Since you can't take many hits, the game stops you from just rushing into the fights head first. The more you progress, the easier fights get, although boss fights are still pretty difficult. I had a few encounters where I hit the desk, or my controller did.
The most fun I had was skating down ramps in all different kind of locations and climbing around the paths. It just felt awesome. And also your Droid BD-1 who is just adorable.
For graphics:
It looks pretty cool, even on my quite meh specs, there are a few FPS drops, but whatever. Game seems very well allocated.
I am still torn and a bit mad I spend 60 Bucks on 16 hrs. of gameplay. All there is left to do is find “loot boxes” (pun intended) – which are scattered around the levels. All they do is giving skins for you, your droid, your ship and your light saber.
