I deleted my last review of Rain World because I genuinely want to praise this amazing game.

Like everyone else I bought Rain World, was confused on what to do, was wondering why this funny white cat isn't properly moving the way I want it to, and got really lost on what my objective was. Then I quit the game and realized I couldn't refund the game because I've already played it for more then 2 hours. So then it sat in my steam library taunting me everyday when I saw it. After many months of Rain World collecting dust in my library I decided to sit down and actually try and finish the game, just so I didn't feel cursed by it anymore. The game took a while to click with me, but when it did it clicked. I was soon in love with this funny slimy creature, the movement, and the amazing art and backdrops. But the one thing that always made me wanna play the game more was the music and the mastering of the movement, there is a 87 page google document with the most complex things imaginable. You can notice when you are learning how to control the slugcat and master the combat. Soon after the lizards don't become a fearful thing you are scared to get close to, they instead become a creature that is insanely fun to engage with. Scavengers become something you always wanna fight with instead of trying to become Chieftain. The music always slaps no matter what, from the calming shoreline, to the aggressive dynamic threat music when you are fighting for survival. All the music feels like a reward, a accomplishment that you over came to listen to and relax. I don't really wanna go into story details because that will ruin the experience of accomplishing the goals in the game, but I wanna tell you to keep playing and don't give up because the game doesn't tell you anything. Rain World is probably my favorite game ever made, because the game feels like its own ecosystem that continues even when you are not even playing. Rain World is a amazing little indie game, and I recommend if you purchase it you also get Downpour.
