since 2008

cs_compound is an official hostage rescue map featured in Counter-Strike: Source. It was officially released by Valve on February 24, 2005.

Set in a vast, dark industrial complex, the map features high walls, warehouses, and open exterior areas. The key, fortified "Hostage Shack" is located in the center, while CTs must navigate from their spawn outside the main gates through narrow passages or exposed courtyards.

Historically, cs_compound is known for being heavily Terrorist-sided, with a design that favors defenders who can control extensive open areas and narrow, chokepoint-heavy entry routes.
