West Coast Legacy (WestCL)

August 14 marks the one year anniversary since the founding of West Coast Legacy. On that monumental day, we must celebrate hope for the future of our group, as well as remember our past. It is the past that we must look into, in order to comprehend the sum of those actions that have led us to creating this cornerstone association of friends, one bound by name, the coast, the legacy.

This brief history will reveal names of several members. If you desire to keep your real name hidden, please comment requesting so.

A Brief History

- Pro Noobs Turbo Time (2013-March 2014)

Before Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, there was Minecraft. A group of friends who had known each other from middle school had been playing together for a while. Those friends were Sean, Kristian, David R., and Daniel (the stoner looking Daniel, not our member). Eventually, Daniel and David split from the circle. Sean and Kristian did not speak for a while either. But spring of 2013, other Daniel , along with Sean, reunited with Kristian. We played Minecraft contently together, and eventually Hunter joined as well. A foreign exchange student known as Vincent made his way into the group as well. A group of five, playing Minecraft.

Halloween 2013, Sean and Vincent get into a game known as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Kristian had already owned this game for a while, before it was cool. Eventually, the group had all purchased CS:GO, and we wanted to make our group of five official. Thus, Pro Noob Turbo Time was born. Our first batch of games together were rough, as we were noobs at the game. We also used Skype, which is sucky. However, Vincent found a nice server for TeamSpeak 3, whom he knew the admin, and created a permanent channel for the group to join. We migrated to TeamSpeak, and the Community Server would be the longtime home of our candid group.

Over the course of several months, we had gotten better. Honed our skills. We were a team not to be trifled with. But our relationships with each other had gotten shaky. Drama between Daniel and Sean took place. They broke their relationship, and Vincent went along with him. Down two men. But no worries.

Daniel had met a loud canadian during his solo ventures on matchmaking, CM Spader. He brought him to our lovely group. We bonded. In fact, those were among the highlights of our pre-WestCL time. Along with Spader came homeslicerae. He was alright. Kristian converted Brandon from a console peasant, and he soon joined the group. Meh.

The five of us, and some other people that we knew, wanted a more professional front for our aspirations as a team. First, we needed a name. Kristian created Double Point (>>). Majority consensus was "lame". Hunter came up with .initials. Although we did not end up with that name, its influence is still seen in the names of our members today. CM Spader, came up with our definitive name, West Coast Legacy, and while he was celebrating his genius, Kristian furtively snatched up the domain. It would be the ♥♥♥♥ move that would be very important, in hindsight.

Thus, West Coast Legacy LLC was born! August 14, 2014.
