ABOUT Civil Multiplayer Group

A Contact List for a Reliable, Enjoyable, Respectful Gaming Experience

Salvete, to anyone who may see this.

I, for the most part, prefer by far to play in Single-Player on any given game. The reasons for this are many, but relevant to this, one of the most prominent of reasons is that many people can be very uncivil, hurtful, and hateful in their speech and conduct. Disregard for others' feelings, and even outright harrassment are dispicably commonplace.

However, I acknowledge there can be an undeniable degree of enjoyability to a good multiplayer match at times- and for some games, such as Primal Carnage and Team Fortress 2, this is the only or primary means by which the game is designed to be played.

On account of this, I have created this: The Civil Mulitplayer Group. This is intended to be a Contact List where one may find players who tend to provide a good gaming session, not only by skill, but by good sportspersonship. Essentially, this is a list of "desirable" game-partners.

Allow me to disclaim that I do not expect this group to be very popular. In fact, by far, I'm creating this group for myself. However, if others wish to use this group as I shall, please feel free to do so.

I will be searching for players to add here who prioritize and strongly adhere to key virtues that can make for a pleasant, clean, and mutually satisfactory gaming experience:

*Politeness: Of high importance is that we all speak and act in ways that are respectful to others. This entails:

-Clean language: The purpose of words is to convey relevant ideas that might otherwise be difficult to communicate, particularly over long distances, and even more-so over the computer- hence our keyboards. There are about 500,000 words in the English language; we need not make half of our speech consist of only eleven or so of them that are particularly vague and meaningless. To do so is not only offensive, but inefficient.

It is understood that some of the games wherein we play have profanity within. On account of this, I can understand issue being taken with the notion of trying to monitor our own language even as a Soldier dominating a Demoman in Team Fortress 2 calls him a "Scott Son-of-a-(insert word here)".
