Sales, Knowing in Advance

I just finished the first Overlord game that came out wayy back in 2007 (I had it on console then but got it again here when it was on sale), and I wanted to go ahead and buy Raising Hell and Overlord 2 but they're $10 each. My question is this: is there a way for me to know if they will be on sale anytime soon? I've never actually tried looking something like this up so I have no idea. Please reply if you have a helpful answer. Thanks!

No, Sales and bundles are not announced in advance.

There are big sales at the middle and end of the year, every year, where basically everything tends to be on sale. The dates probably change a bit, but seeing as it's mid-November now, there's not going to be too much longer to wait.

Well you can get it in a few places, right now it dose not seem to be on sale on any of them, but the best price so far seem to be 2$

Thanks for the link, Black Blade. That's pretty useful. And Gus, I know pretty much everything goes on sale for the holidays but I just don't feel like waiting since I just finished the first one again lol. Thanks everybody!

When is the Fall Sale going to start?

We are just over a month away from the start of winter yet no fall sale yet. I was curious as to when it will start.

There has never been a "Fall Sale" alike to the "Winter Sale"
The Winter Sale is the next big sale incoming.

They do not publish sale dates ahead of time as it would hurt business. Last year there was a Spring sale (just indie titles) in March, Summer Sale (most titles) in July, Halloween sale (horror titles), Autumn sale (don't remember general I think) around Thanksgiving, and the Winter sale around Christmas(general).

Lastly, you have the constant sales as well. The daily title sale (posted at 1 p.m. est lasting 48 hours), Mid-week madness sales (I think tue-thr @1 p.m.)), Weekend sales (thurs-monday @ 1 p.m.), Week long sales (Monday 1 p.m.-next monday @1 p.m.). Also publishers are free to make sales at any point they wish ( I believe the minnimum length is 48 hours though it could be 24).

There can also be limited time trials of part/full games and very rarely a game may be given away for a short period of time to keep forever if you start downloading it within that time window

You can try to figure out a pattern with the collected data (for example from http://steamsales.rhekua.com).
Just put the the prices and dates into a proper spread sheet and fill the blanks with the normal price to get a more helpful chart.

The "fall sale" is called "autumn sale" and the "winter sale" is called "holiday sale". since both sales are so close together, stuff from autumn sale is mostly the exact same discount as 3 weeks later in the holiday sale. the last 4 years there were no real big hitter differences in discounts, mostly the community event differs those sales.

so if you can spare 3 weeks of waiting, wait for holiday sale, maybe your money will be worth more.

autumn sale is next week, prolly 26th nov + a week (this has been done for at least the last 4 years, you will find the news for that)
holiday sale is prolly 18th dec + 2 weeks (usually start midweek before xmas)

Just as in every other market in the world ;) It;s counter-productive to announce in advance.

I would HIGHLY recommend waiting for the two sales coming up - the smallish Black Friday deals at the end of the month, and the Winter Sale starting Christmas week. The latter is the biggy and if it ain't on sale then, it rarely will be ;)

That's about the closest to predicition you'll get.
