I'm done here, sorry :(

Regarding 2/5/20 Patch
Capcom has gone insane with their anti-tamper, rather than remove it they are applying it earlier and to a more broad coverage of executable code (including third-party DLLs). This has massive implications for stability and will prevent normal users not even modifying the game from running the game (as seen in the primary forums).

Tl;Dr:

To continue using Special K, apply the following changes to dxgi.ini
      [Steam.Log] Silent=true

Regarding 1/26/20 Patch
Capcom has removed the active CRC scanning threads on 1/26/20, old anti-tamper code is now at play, which introduces the same stability problems I have been warning Capcom about since the game launched. I've watched that code self-destruct on Ansel's whitelist check DLL numerous times and that code needs to be removed.
Please do not give Capcom a free pass to stop where they did, your CPU load may have gone down, but there is still something truly awful under the hood that consumers need to complain about until gone.

Introduction
This is what is left of the original HDR mod for MH:W, HDR is officially supported now and the more important functionality offered by the mod is improved framepacing and memory scan (anti-tamper/anti-cheat related) elimination for better performance.

    Current Features:
    • Eliminates 24-thread CRC scanning performance sink
    • Restrict job threads to a manageable number (physical or logical cores)
    D3D11
    • HUDless screenshots (Broken 2/5/20)
    • Texture/button mods
    • Pre-HUD ReShade
    D3D12
    NOTE:
Special K's UI is not functional in D3D12 mode, but the mod does still work and manual edits to the ini file allow tweaking stuff.

    HDR Display Owners:
A work-in-progress HDR FAQ is available here.

Non-HDR Display Owners -- No More Washed out Colors:

Download and Install
  1. Grab this archive (if using D3D11)[drive.google.com] or this archive (if using D3D12)[drive.google.com] from Google Drive.
  2. Extract it to your game's install directory (steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World)

Configuration
Press Ctrl + Shift + Backspace to open Special K's config menu.

HUDless screenshots can be configured under the Steam Enhancements / Screenshots tab

Custom ReShade
Follow the normal Download and Install procedure, using this archive[github.com] instead.

The shipping preset is configured to test pre-HUD shading and nothing else, you can go into the ReShade directory and fiddle with stuff to your content. You DEFINITELY do not want it the way it's setup out-of-the-box :P

Troubleshooting
If the mod does not work, third-party software (especially FRAPS!), anti-virus software or Windows 7 is usually to blame.
Windows 7 has a half-dozen optional updates that you need to install to use modern software such as mine; it's easier just to upgrade to Windows 10 :P
If after closing third-party software the game still does not start, please paste logs/dxgi.log, logs/modules.log and logs/game_output.log to pastebin.com and provide a link in a post.

Disabling Ansel and the texture cache seems to have resolved things. Thanks for your help!
Since i use the Fix the game uses a lot more Vram .. is it normal ? :)
Before 2,5 . 2,8GB .. after installation 4GB
Wouldn´t be a problem but i have a GTX 970 ;)

Yes, because the mod has a Texture Cache feature. This keeps textures in memory longer than the game. Naturally that means the game is gonna use more memory. As long as you are on Windows 10 or Windows 8.1 because there are some DirectX features the mod uses that tell it to unload textures when it needs to free memory. If you are you seeing performance issues because it is using so much VRAM, then go ahead and disable the Texture Cache and then restart your game.

Thank you very much :)

Yeah, you literally can't keep the Steam overlay from insisting it's the center of the XInput universe unless you delete the overlay DLL.

Whether you enable the overlay or not, whether or not you have any form of gamepad support enabled, Steam … steamrolls everything and starts breaking XInput controllers :) It's to the point now where the Steam client has to be in big picture mode with or without the overlay drawing anything or you can just expect no gamepads to work.

An alternative is to use GloSC[alia5.github.io] so you always have complete Steam Input features. You can have radial menus, on screen keyboard, action sets, and everything even on the desktop.

Unless you don't want Steam running when not playing games, there is no need for 3rd party tools (x360ce, DS4Windows, MotionJoy, etc).

I only use my mouse and keyboard for fps games or using Notepad++ lol.

Thanks.... The truth is that it has helped me a lot.

My processor (i5 3570) can not with this game, so far I played in 1080P with everything in LOW, -1 and OFF, between 15 - 30FPs for the use of CPU at 100%, with the Special K the CPU usage is reduced to 60 - 70%, that allows me to increase the graphic quality between High and Ultra (I have a GTX 1060) and now I can play 60FPs.

When start the game it takes approximately between 8 and 10 minutes to load Astera, but then when load a mission there are almost no loading times. (I imagine that its due to the loading of all the textures in the VRAM that I read a few pages ago).

I suppose there is no problem with the use of this in the Steam version, it only affects the performance of the game and the truth is very useful.

EDIT: I have no sound with this mod... ¿how I can solve? (I need to open and close the game two times and at third has sound)

Hi,
I have a problem, the game crash sometimes and i don't know why, there is sound just before the screen freeze. When the crash comme there is a CPU overuse (98% then 50-60% before)

Try the following:

1. Disable Ansel: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Nvidia#Ansel

2. Disable/shut down Nahimic.
Hi. First, I am sorry that I am not good at English.
My Monitor Resolution is 1920x1080.
I set the game option borderless window and wide display, SK_MHW_ReShade(I use reshade version of this program) works fine.

As you know, ultrawide 21:9 resolution was patched today.
I wanted to play with 21: 9 resolution.
So I changed display setting wide to ultrawide, then ReShade does not work(HUDless screenshots was work).
SK_MHW_ReShade work only with 1920x1080 resolution? or did I make a mistake?

I believe SK_MHW_ReShade only works with 16:9 resolutions by default, yes. Sadly I am not sure how to get it to work with 21:9 resolutions.

It's not working in widescreen with the newest patch, I'm using 3440x1440. It worked before the patch with the trainer-mod for widescreen resolutions, but the trainer isn't working anymore too after the last patch.

Trainer I was using: https://steamcommunity.com/app/582010/discussions/3/1745594817434182398/?ctp=26

Maybe someone can give us a hint how we can bring ReShade back to life with the new patch in widescreen?

That's b/c game now supports 21:9 support natively. And the unofficial ReSHade doesn't support 21:9 I think for custom reshade. Try downloading the official one and use that instead.

Can I install it over my current installation of SpecialK or should I remove it and take the vanilla version before I install OfficialReShade?

Are there any minor differences between the ReShade Version SpecialK is using and the Official one I should keep in mind?

Edit:
I've deleted the ReShade Version of SpecialK and installed the vanilla Version. After that I've installed the Official ReShade and now it's working again. With native 21:9.

But now I can't open the menu of SpecialK. I think it's still working because of my frametimes, but no menu.

Don't rename official Reshade DXGI.dll but rename it reshade64.dll and proxy it in the dxgi.ini SK file. And reinstall MHW SK ;)
Can't launch the game anymore since 165889 release, currently I have to remove Special K or else the game will crash immediately after launch (not even showing CAPCOM logo).

Anyone getting the same issue?

Edit: my bad, didn't notice Special K files on my system are outdated, re-downloaded the releases works
