[Special K] Monster Hunter: World - Dead Mod
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2028860053

I'm done here, sorry :(

Regarding 2/5/20 Patch
Capcom has gone insane with their anti-tamper, rather than remove it they are applying it earlier and to a more broad coverage of executable code (including third-party DLLs). This has massive implications for stability and will prevent normal users not even modifying the game from running the game (as seen in the primary forums).

Tl;Dr:

To continue using Special K, apply the following changes to dxgi.ini
      [Steam.Log] Silent=true

Regarding 1/26/20 Patch
Capcom has removed the active CRC scanning threads on 1/26/20, old anti-tamper code is now at play, which introduces the same stability problems I have been warning Capcom about since the game launched. I've watched that code self-destruct on Ansel's whitelist check DLL numerous times and that code needs to be removed.
Please do not give Capcom a free pass to stop where they did, your CPU load may have gone down, but there is still something truly awful under the hood that consumers need to complain about until gone.

Introduction
This is what is left of the original HDR mod for MH:W, HDR is officially supported now and the more important functionality offered by the mod is improved framepacing and memory scan (anti-tamper/anti-cheat related) elimination for better performance.

    Current Features:
    • Eliminates 24-thread CRC scanning performance sink
    • Restrict job threads to a manageable number (physical or logical cores)
    D3D11
    • HUDless screenshots (Broken 2/5/20)
    • Texture/button mods
    • Pre-HUD ReShade
    D3D12
    NOTE:
Special K's UI is not functional in D3D12 mode, but the mod does still work and manual edits to the ini file allow tweaking stuff.

    HDR Display Owners:
A work-in-progress HDR FAQ is available here.

Non-HDR Display Owners -- No More Washed out Colors:

Download and Install
  1. Grab this archive (if using D3D11)[drive.google.com] or this archive (if using D3D12)[drive.google.com] from Google Drive.
  2. Extract it to your game's install directory (steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World)

Configuration
Press Ctrl + Shift + Backspace to open Special K's config menu.

HUDless screenshots can be configured under the Steam Enhancements / Screenshots tab

Custom ReShade
Follow the normal Download and Install procedure, using this archive[github.com] instead.

The shipping preset is configured to test pre-HUD shading and nothing else, you can go into the ReShade directory and fiddle with stuff to your content. You DEFINITELY do not want it the way it's setup out-of-the-box :P

Troubleshooting
If the mod does not work, third-party software (especially FRAPS!), anti-virus software or Windows 7 is usually to blame.
Windows 7 has a half-dozen optional updates that you need to install to use modern software such as mine; it's easier just to upgrade to Windows 10 :P
If after closing third-party software the game still does not start, please paste logs/dxgi.log, logs/modules.log and logs/game_output.log to pastebin.com and provide a link in a post.

Same for me!
I mean the date for dll file did show it was recent I guess maybe he forgot to change version number. ;)

Special K v 0.9.25.2

+ Added High-Precision Event Timer to framerate limiter for lower CPU overhead. + Changed sRGB -> Linear gamma for HDR displays, re-adjustment will be needed by anyone who previously tuned HDR settings.

I can´t find the new version neither on Github nor on Gitlab.

EDIT:
Like HolyDeath3000 said, Kaldaien forgot to update the files in the "Version" folder.
The checksumms of the dll and pdb files are different from the last version (SK_0_9_24).

Not surprising as SK_0_9_24 is almost a 1½ month old version of Special K by now. The last changes have seen per-game updates in the form of custom versions for Yakuza 0 (0.9.24.? -> 0.9.24.5), Monster Hunter World (0.9.24.6ish -> 0.9.24.36 -> 0.9.25.2 (apparently missing)) and Shenmue 1&2 ( 0.9.24.24ish -> 0.9.25.2, I think).

What you can do (unless Kaldaien keeps the codebases partially separate) is grab the dxgi.dll and dxgi.pdb from the latest Shenmue 1&2 package and extract those to the game folder, overwriting the files from the SK_MHW.7z archive: https://github.com/Kaldaien/SpecialK/releases/download/shenmue/SK_Shenmue.7z

Is that with MHW Fixes though? I mean Kaldaien stated he updated MHW DLL file and I know he did b/c the timestamp proves that. Just wondering if the version number wasn't updated or if he might had messed up on the upload ;-)

Edit: 0.9.25.2 Or main DL for regular version of MHW fix is with timestamp of 09/07/2018. So I wonder if its another version he updated.

SK_MHW.7z includes files dated as compiled on 2018-08-07.
Kaldaien's post about 0.9.25.2 was made on 2018-08-08.

Ergo, Kaldaien forgot to update SK_MHW.7z with 0.9.25.2 when he compiled that version.

Whether the dxgi.dll file in SK_Shenmue.7z includes the MHW fixes or not I can not say as I am not in a position to test it. Kaldaien typically keeps everything in the same codebase and only uses the App ID or executable file name to expose the various options for his game-specific tweaks, so it might include MHW tweaks as well.
HolyDeath3000 9 SEP 2018 a las 9:28 a. m.
Maybe he forgot to upload it or Github is giving him trouble again. :) It does like to be a flakey sometimes. And yeah your right. It occured to me that is the case indeed. That he statement was 2018-09-08 and the MHW one is 2018-09-07.

Important Update of MHW Fix
This here is what we need to DL for the fix for MHW.

I DL Shenmue from that version and it definitely updated MHW world one to 0.9.25.2 and with MHW Fixes. Seems he just forgot to implement it in the official MHW fix files itself.

The problem is that the zip file that you downloaded is from 09/07/2018 when 0.9.25.2 was uploaded on 09/08/2018. So no it doesn't have latest fixes he reported. Look at date of DLL File. Its before his announcement.

The following Fixes

Yeah, but I downloaded the Shenmue file Aemony posted and replaced both dxgi.dll and dxgi.pdb, or I need to do something else?

Added the archive to my installation directory, loaded up the game. Instant black screen of death, no signal detected for my monitor. Really starting to hate how expensive the new graphics cards are now.

So I grabed the updated dxgi.dll and dxgi.pdb from the latest Shenmue package and then had my game crash with mgs alert sound. (While cheeky it did actually scare me.)

Is there any way to install it on linux? I have dx11 crash with this fix. Also I can't install Visual C++ 2017 runtime since I'm on linux.

SpecialK hooks into a lot of core Windows functions, not just DirectX. It also uses a lot of things outside of DirectX, i.e. for CPU and other hardware monitoring. It isn't likely 100% this has been implemented by SteamPlay. I wouldn't try to use SpecialK with this, as I don't think you'll have much luck figuring out all the issues, assuming that it is even possible (which I doubt).

Also Visual C++ 2017 is a requirement for SK to work period. So without that it definitely won't boot up on your machine. Or work. And as TrowGundam stated, most of the functions in this Mod use Windows 10 functions.
