Definition of "Important" is different from persone to persone, from situation to situation.
More than 450k players at peak. Only 350 threads in anticheat. Let that sink for a second. This is simply a vocal minority, as usual.
Considering, that some Helldivers II players already had hardware failures and Gameguard is also attacking and shutting down EDR Solutions and thus creating extreme security risks which could potentially even affect other companies...
... It is safe to say that this is a very important topic.
Just this one negative review which is commenting on Gameguard has more than 21.000 helpful upvotes:
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198123857363/recommended/553850/
The petition has close to 5.000 signatures.

Even the devs themselves stated, that they already received a lot of complaints about Gameguard and are having an internal discussion going on about it.
Upvotes and Petitions are the lazy way to voice your opinion. If that is all you can manage then I'm sorry. This is like a fart in the wind.
Of course they get plenty of complaints about Gameguard because there is a lot of people not knowing how to handle their PC. Usually have some software open that prevents Gameguard from starting and stuff. People overclock their PCs even though they don't know what they are doing. All that kinda stuff but blame it on Gameguard.
Meanwhile 100s of thousand of people play this game just fine. (Myself included) So how is that possible if Gameguard is so agressive and destroys hardware left and right?
And do you count other platforms? You do know that people use other platforms to discuss things (Discord/Reddit). Anyway give it time it will surely grow as always.
This game is out for over a Month and nothing went wild. When will that happen exactly? Do you think they will update Gameguard later to destroy your hardware?
Never said you were, stop implying things I never said. And that number changes nothing since nothing happened to 99% of the players so far.
Not sure what you're up to with this comment but if you have nothing constructive to say then better not say anything at all.

It is rich that you call the reports about the Gameguard related problems of your peers who play the same game as you a "fart in the wind". I am happy that you don't experience these problems and I hope it stays that way. However, as you can see from the tremendous amount of reports, for a lot of people Gameguard does cause severe issues - it has been doing the same thing in other games it was bundled with in the last 20 years and has a really bad reputation precisely for that reason.
Even the developers themselves list it on their own troubleshooting website that Gameguard indeed causes such severe issues for 1 in every 150 players, that they can't even start the game they paid for. You can read it here:
https://arrowhead.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12573380356508-Known-issues
The relevant part is right under where it lists that "Game launch failing due to GameGuard errors".
Furthermore, I recommend you read the amazing write-up (and the one linked in it) below. It is relevant to what you are talking about and it is written by user LongTimeAgo, who is a data security expert:
Of which, subforums will see even less use because they're hidden away out of the default space people get placed in when entering the forum.
The simple fact they even had to create a sub forum dedicated to the anti cheat which I've never seen another game do on Steam before, speaks volumes by itself.
And no, I have no arguments for keeping Gameguard in the game. Never said that. I'm not pro Gameguard. I just don't give a flying F if they use it in their game because nothing ever happened to me, people I know and 99% of the playerbase in this game.
Come back when you have proper source code and show me how it actually attacks the system. As long as you can't I take it this piece of software is absolutely fine.
As for this. I want to simply point out one thing to you and I'm done with this discussion:
"tremendous amount of reports"
Is less than 0.1% of the players really tremendous? (Threads in Discussions) Like is this an issue we have to make a big fuss about or is this more like the minority of people with unstable systems that if not for Helldivers/Gameguard would have trouble with a different game they play anyways?
Just think about that. I'm out nothing more for me to add since NO ONE here has any idea of what the software actually does to your system.
