Ore GUI missing when not in menus
Since this most recent update just a minute ago, it seems the ore GUI is missing unless I enter into a menu. I kinda liked being able to see my resources when flying around in space. Anyone else have this issue?

This is part of the patch, since the group members UI is now at that place and there really isn't a reason for the resources to always be visible. They're still visible whenever you might need them: When interacting with stations or ships, when building and when in menus.

Thank you for the speedy reply! Next question though, I don't see my warp range indicator anymore? I don't see the circle showing my range.

Edit: interesting. When I put on a hyperspace module it showed up again. Idk what caused it to dissapear originally.

You may not like it or even expect it, but there are people around who play solo, and have no use for the group members, but really want to see always how many resources someone have.

Even for those who play multiplayer, regardless, some of that information is still vital. I would like to see when i'm running low on money, for example, whether im playing singleplayer or not.

I can understand it being a problem if it takes up the same space as the group UI, but having to enter buildmode every time i want to see my money or stocks is not really convenient.

perhaps you could fit the Group UI on the Right of where resource information is, rather than removing it for everyone who wishes to see it.

The biggest problem is that the UI is generally cluttered already, and for example the fighter UI interferes with groups on low resolutions. As does the resources UI. Since the resources are not that vital (money is more important, I agree on that) they won't get displayed any more when not in menus or in build mode.

So putting the group UI to the right of the previous displayed resources, under the sector name isn't viable? It would prevent it from interfering with the fighter UI, though i'm actually not sure how the group UI is layed out. I've only ever had one other person in the group..
Aleternatively, maybe adding a hotkey to drop down the mineral resources for quick viewing may be possible? The problem right now is having to constantly enter buildmode just to see them. There needs to be some other way.

If all else fails though, I suppose just having that money up there would be enough.

Yep! I just noticed this playing a little while ago. That's certainly better than entering build. Do try to get that money up there though ;p

I admit I haven't played at lower resolutions, but it hardly seems cluttered to me. It's trivial to make which UI blocks (groups, resources, fighters, sector, etc) configurable. Different playstyles and tastes will lend themselves to wanting different information displayed. As more is added to the game, more information is going to be in the game. Might as well move to the attitude of letting users decide what pieces of information they want to see.

You got PLENTY of screen space right under where the Sector name and coords used to be (next to the resource readout) to put the group names.

You also could put it under the resource readout, the names and coords do not need to be that big.

Above the Chat Box is another place it could be put. Even below the Menu area in the top right!

Again lots of places it could of been placed without removing something very vital to the game. When mining/salvaging or just plain combat (picking up random floaters) knowing where you are at with your resources/money at all times is VERY useful. It was good to know where you were at in res when mining/salvaging, to know, "oh I'm good" and move on at a quick glance, rather then having to push a button. The fewer buttons players have to push to find out information, the better.

No idea how hard coded the UI is, but it would be very useful down the line to allow a customization of the UI that lets the players choose where stuff is, even if its just a drop down menut, XX box into YY corner, stacked or side by side ect.

if you look at the loot ticker area (bottom right) when mining or collecting resources, you now get displayed your total of those resources as well as the individual amount of that resource just collected, this remains on screen for several seconds after collecting the resources, so while mining, you can easily keep an eye on this location to know how much you have.

Use a extra window for Groups that keeps permantly open, so everbody can use his own position for this!
Or make a Drop Down (right/left) menu with icons, so i can choose wich information i want to see.
hmm, make the UI scalable. I paly with a reselotion of 3440x1440 so its a nice option if i can scale the UI for me!

Why not give us the option with a check box in settings? Many players want to see their resources on the main screen. I use a mod for this, which sadly disables achievements.
