I agree it's a bit lame. You can unlink those things in freeplay mode, apparently.
If you don't want this sort of progression, you may be better playing classic mode - on that everything is unlocked from the start as it used to be.
My super-capital ship designs (Anything above about 300million volume it seems) get shrunk down and ruined. This is a server-setting and can be found alongside the block stacking option in server.ini here: (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/302072522386440193/870632666448408576/unknown.png)
Block stacking option is highlighted in blue, the ship size function is 5 below listed as "UnlimitedShipSize", set to "True" and it'll work fine.
Do I need to switch the server type to classic also? If this is the case, how would I do this, as Scenario only lists creative and normal.
That will change the game to freeplay, which imho is the best scenario of the lot as it allows the most freedom with these types of editing under server.ini
Thats almost always a hard pass. Thanks for the tip tho.
All I wanted tho, was that once Avorion knowledge was unlocked, that size would be unlimited. So this works since everyones at avorion now anyhow.
Other than xsotan, inside the barrier.
Haphazard thrown together trash.
I'd almost argue a game like this needs a tool like that. If you're not super creative or artistic, you could spend many hours building a single ship on one tier. At the very least you can find shipyard designs that only need minor cosmetic or functional tweaks to get them to your liking. And that saves a lot of time in the design process. For a game where your options are turtle or zerg, its a nice option to have.
