Profile says '22 hours on record', so I guess not, the numbers were pretty accurate.
Sorry it didn't suit you OP, hope you can find a game more to your liking in the future. I wish you well.
The difference lays in playing vs AFKing, in 1.X I acutely did stuff vs 2.X where I went AFK.
As for the sandbox/sim genre, I have put in years in this genre.
Thank you I just wanted to put my thoughts here, I hope the game will improve as it is interesting in concept, so I will check back every now and again :)
Gotta admit I love the laid back nature of this, I find it a perfect game to chill and relax to, losing myself in the minutia of fleet and resource management and logistics, or even just wandering off into a distant sector and using auto-turrets to mine some resources.
And I would have thought there was enough to even keep others who prefer more intense experiences happy, what with raiding pirate sectors or getting involved in faction conflicts and all. But I guess that's not the case.
Not to say that I don't respect anyone's opinion though...if it doesn't appeal then so be it. Each to their own.
I would disagree, myself. It does have slow options, for those who wish to play in a slow manner. But those options were always there, and the new updates did not change that all that much.
What is more, there are also options for those who prefer a faster, more intense game style. And those too have always been there. In truth, I would say the recent updates didn't really change all that much, gameplay-wise.
This game has kept me occupied for over 1.2k hours so far, and the recent updates have sucked me in again after I left for a while. I really find it entertaining.
I like action sometime and sometime I like to take it slow :)
In the current version I was willing to walk away from my computer since there was almost no chance of something bad happening. In the beta version that is way to dangerous. I would have a good chance of losing a ship.
All the player controlled content seems the same to me, so don't know how you are afking more in 2 than you were in 1. I think you were just starting to dislike the game and didn't feel like actually playing it, so you started to afk more.
You can choose not to play with the tech level unlocks.
There's plenty of other threads about the new missions so I wont comment on that here.
-Build Mining Drone
-Gather Materials
-Sell Materials For Credits
-Buy Salvage Laser
-Set Ship to Persistent Salvage
-AFK For 2 Days While Gaining Systems/Turrets and More Materials
-Build Station For Passive Income
-Start Actually Playing About Day 4
That, or wait 6 hours for a mining job to be completed, come back to find less than 10% of what you'd expect to get for an hour's worth of manual mining. Same for salvage missions. The only missions "worth it" to me are the trade missions, which have been drastically reduced...but still have an actual payout.
I like many things about 2.0, but the arbitrary and savage reduction of any form of income, just as with the build limit and slot gating, are simply there to slow the player down. I understand the desire to limit or prevent Core Rushing, but I never did that as a player.
It seems to me that the same thing that happened with Hazard Zones is happening again with Core Rushing: The intent was to solve a problem with players raiding cargo ships, but instead...all it did was cause the raiders to move to a new sector every time. Meanwhile, honest trade gets shut down the first time a civvie dies, and for 160min at a time? Yes, you can say "don't stay in-sector with them" all you like, but the player has to go back eventually, even if it's just to add a new station. Warp in and INSTANTLY the pirates spawn, kill a trade ship before you can blink, and grats: Trade's disabled for almost 3 hours.
So to beat the Core Rushers, they have implemented a system which has me treating this like an idle game. I don't understand the reasoning.
Of course I will keep playing. Mods can help overcome many of the issues I have with the new system. I just don't like the direction some of the game is taking. There have been other viable solutions to many of the changes implemented.
It's going to be a gamble on anything mod-related until 2.0 goes stable, but...try them out, please. There are many mods out there which can put back things we've lost if that's the issue you're having.
I won't try to change anyone's opinion on it. I'll just say that this is the power we have to adjust the game in the direction we'd like. It's up to you if you want to do that or not.
-oh a new tutorial!
-oh a starting ship!
-oh...

Remembered how they nerfed everything even resource gathering and added the dumbest idea "torpedoes" with annoying warning sound...
back then people only wanted to have Boarding feature.
no fun allowed I guess
