How do I find repairable wrecks?

I've seen hundreds of wrecks and none gave me a repair option.

i believe a specific ship that is built from the shipyards has a special permission it can have to do so. Similar to having a special permission to build stations.

Iirc the repairable ones will be named "Abandoned Ship" as opposed to "wreckage". It's these that you'll be able to reapir. The ones I have found are in hidden mass sectors usually next to an emergency beacon of some sort.

Update: I found one next to a "Mayday our hyperdrive was disabled" beacon but it is listed as a Wreckage and under that is Dubious Remains.

Abandoned Ships are the claimable ones. They're unfortunately extremely rare... I have only ever found about 3 of them in all the time i've been playing.
If you have an object detector though, they will be highlighted as valuable objects.
