Bomb Disposal
Bit confused and would appreciate some insight.
~ Need to diffuse a dozen bombs. The act of diffusing one takes 1/4 of my health. That math does not add up.
~ The mere act of movement consume oxygen. By the time I diffuse the first couple bombs, I am below 50% oxygen. That math also does not add up.
~ Shooting the bombs causes the scenario to fails after the third shot. Nothing is explained and it is quite frustrating as I just want to get that poorly made dlc behind me so I can play a full X sandbox.

Can you go inside something (ship, station) and come back out with a fresh suit?
ColdOne 22 jun. 2024 às 22:32
It's a scenario in Timlines dlc. No such convenience as you are on a timer.

Yes - it is definitly confusing. You definitly need to shoot the bombs.

There are some zones (you get voice hint) with cameras (red = camera survailance, blue = no camera), some other zones with sound alarms (you can shoot, but not use booster or crash into walls or you will alert the "bad guy").

So for the first bombs streight ahead: wait until "bombs" are not in red camera mode before shooting them.
Some bombs are under constant camera survailance, maybe ... don't shoot the bomb directly (hint: bombs are on generators, and generators could explode if hit 2-3x).

I got about 10 bombs in this mission before running out of oxygen, enough to unlock stuff & continue ...

Hope this helps.

There is actually oxygen in one of the movement sensor areas in the maintenance hallway. It's down one of the halls right after you enter the room with the generators Mex is talking about. You have 10x the amount of time and oxygen needed to complete this mission.

You don't need a single star in that mission to progress. I failed twice and gave up. Still unlocked everything.
ColdOne 23 jun. 2024 às 2:35
Appreciate everyone's input. I felt it only fair to set a personal goal of at least one star in all challenges in order to get a good idea of the Dev's intended experience. Looking forward to putting this one behind me as quick as possible.

i finished the mission today with 5 bombs before my oxygen was empty. Because i was detected one or 2 time, 0 stars. I hate such missions which shows the middle finger when u try the best

I don't think the 0 star was from being detected. I was able to get 5 stars and was detected. That's only a small bonus for not being detected completely and it's a one time bonus. You got 0 stars because 5 bombs isn't enough for success.

Since people keep ending up here I'll leave a mini tutorial of sorts.

When you go down the first hallway pick the spinning fan direction first. There are two bombs. You can boost right on through the fan it doesn't matter at all. The detection zone is too small for you to fail. Just don't boost into the fan itself. (2bombs total at this point)

Next go down the alternate hallway and keep going to the very end. Stop without going into the room. You do not need to enter it. Wait for the camera to turn blue and shoot both bombs. (4bombs total)

Head back towards the little laser field you passed up. Before entering the field fly towards the ceiling there's a bomb behind the flooring on the left in the hallway. Shoot it before entering. (5bombs total)

When going through the laser field do a single boost and than stop and let yourself drift through. DO NOT HIT THE WALL. You'll be detected as normal but it doesn't matter. Stop hovering above the room infront of you with another camera. Instead of shooting the bombs shoot both fans they are sitting on. You only need to shoot the fans once which will produce an electrical effect and kill the bombs for you. (7bombs total)

Carefully descend into the room with the camera, head down the maintenance hall first. Be careful not to speed too fast through the second barrier because on the other side is another fun laser field. You should be able to see in the laser field, on the wall, there is a Oxygen tank. When you fly by it, you'll get oxygen back. HOWEVER you can't linger in the field or you get game over. Set your speed as slow as you can and slowly drift through. Make sure not to touch the wall while getting your oxygen.

Once you are on the other side there's two paths now. If you continue straight around the corner there's two bombs and another camera. The bomb on the floor straight ahead you need to shoot the thing it's on and you get another electrical kill. The other bomb you have to shoot the vent across from it up. Simply look up and to the left. It spits out fire killing the bomb. (9bombs)

The rest of the bombs I believe are pretty straight forward. I believe there is a bomb at the end of the other hallway that you didn't take. But in order to continue to the last bombs you must fly carefully through the room with the camera and bomb you killed using fire. Passed the fire there's another small opening. You'll need to put out some fires using your repair laser in order to finish the rest of the level and reach the last bombs.

3 minutes - 5* actually easy if you know how they want you to do it.

haha well if I knew someone made a helpful video I'd of pointed to that. I figured written instructions would be enough to get through as it's definitely easy once you realize how to get the bombs. I just used trial and error initially.

I did it like an hour ago :)
Initially for a friend, but than recorded again, cos why not.

Thanks for the video and explanation but it's this part that I am not getting it, and I could not discern if from the video too. I keep getting out of oxygen. How do you refill your oxygen is not clear to me. The mission seems to lack clarity and visual feedback.
aY227 30 jun. 2024 às 2:16
Yes, mission is terrible at describing what and how you should do.
You can refill O2 at small panels - they will be highlighted as objective when you run low on oxy.
Xautos 30 jun. 2024 às 4:47
the bomb defusing is dead easy. just use the spacesuit boosters as much as you need, accurately shoot the bombs without being seen by cameras (red light) and without getting caught on acoustic scanners (the transparent wall of light) by boosting up to them and not doing anything while passing through them.

attack the generators instead of the bombs on them and hit the fuel pipe to destroy a bomb. two bombs are tucked away and need your focus more than most.
