F1 and F3 are also your friends.
They're not useless, boring and brainless just because you're too lazy to grind.
Geting 99999hp and good other stats are hard to get but possible. First of all before fight with Yunalesca go fight some at end of Zanakard (got some good exp there) so u can overpower ur chars a little. Than u have to go to Calm Lands and start and finish capture all monsters (10mobs from each kind) , and as ALL i mean ALL with Omega ruins AND SIN location too. Here u have link to mobs in each area:
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Arena
Also at this point u can use trick to get lot of AP with this:
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Don_Tonberry_%28Final_Fantasy_X%29
It will help u get a bit better stats before begin with geting max hp and other stats.
When u unlock Ultima Buster mob at arena u can start buying Clear Sphere at price 10000gil ea. Now i suggest geting Wakka celestial weapon and train a bit using Wakka's Atack Reels. Also helpful is geting Tidus Celestial weapon (minigame wirh Chocobo train is pain in the ass but possible to do) and Slice&Dice or even Blitz Ace Overdrive. I also advice to get Auron/Kimahri celestial weapons and form party Tidus,Wakka,Auron/Kimarhi. Try to learn them (if dont have already) Warrior, Comrade overdrives mode, and Quick Hit skill, and hastega. Now go to arena and choose Species Conquest and kill for spheres:
HP sphere - Ironclad (2kk HP)
Strenght Sphere - Juggernaut (1,2kk HP)
Defense Sphere - Tanket (900k HP)
Magic Sphere - Jumbo Flan (1,3kk HP)
Magic Defense Sphere - One-Eye (150k HP)
Agility Sphere - Fenrir (850k HP)
Accuracy Sphere - Hornet (620k HP)
Evasion Sphere - Pteryx (100k HP)
Kill few Sleep Sprout (98k HP) for Teleport Sphere. If u have trouble killing this mobs try use Aoens (Anima, Magus Sisters). Now when u get some spheres teleport all chars at same spot and start using Clear Sphere to replace or fill empty shperes at grid. Keep in mind that u cannot max all stats EVEN if u replace every single node in grid. In my opinion its best to give up some MP and and try to max HP, STR,DEF,MAG,M.DEF. Hope it help
Fighting Kottas 150+ times for nodes IS Boring.
Fighting Earth Eater 210+ times for Fortune SpheresIS Boring.
In FFX sadly there is lot of boring/pissing off elements like Chocobo train, butterfly capture, thunder dodge, geting overdrive modes or blitzball matches, but its part of game and u just do it or not, ur decision. Someone asked if its possible to get stats, so I wrote how u can get em
I can get the 99 S-lvls no bother.
I just can't find the motivation to fight Earth Eater and Kottas Anymore.
I must'av activated well over 5000 nodes by now.
If he killed one boss 300 times do you thing he can git gudier anymore?
Thank you. i walked Nemises and penace. the only thing left to do is grind out the spere grid.
that alone takes 2+hrs per charcter using 4x speed for the fights.
That achievement is my last one to do, and i just can't be ass'd
Yea well i asked the general idea behind it, to see if it actully require anything other than endless grind or does grinding stats ( not health, health over 9999 is useless because of couple game mechanics ) do anything other than help oneshot optional bosses, it's just complete waste of time. The forced bosses that are require stat grind that become oneshot after is known asian "interesting" features, id rather spend this time in games that actually provide any designed challenge if i want it, id just finish story and maybe take a look at second chapter.
Okay, great, that's how you want to play this game, so stop posting on the discussion boards complaining that there's extra content you don't want to do because you don't like grinding. We get it. You think Western games are vastly superior and a fifteen year old game has some aspects that don't appeal to you. That's not a failure of game design.
