last played this game years ago and took their redesigned outfits as part of a larger cultural shift away from an oppressive religion and the generally dour atmosphere under the terror of Sin without much further thought; seeing your before + after pics has me reconsidering the accusations of pandering / fanservice
not sure i’ll use your mod myself, but your work looks good, OP; keep doing you 👍
Do these forums notify you when someone quotes your post? I sure hope so! Because I made that mod you wanted.

I'll upload it to the Nexus tomorrow with better previews - too tired right now to save edit to a better cutscene. But almost everything's dark purple and copper; her hairpins are dark wood, and so is one of her necklaces. I left everything that was silver as-is.
nice
also i really do like yuna and paines outfits
The percentages are usually pretty even when it comes to gender, it's just that people refuse to believe it because it doesn't suit their agenda. The amount of men involved in the DEVELOPMENT of games is a clear majority, not the amount of men consuming them.
This mod is worth it for all the insanely salty dudes crawling out of their basements to rant about the SJWs and how this RUINS THE GAME!!! Personally, I only really like the Rikku changes, but it flat out doesn't affect you if you don't download the mod. It's not the end of the world. There are hundreds of mods to objectify women out there for you if you own Skyrim or Fallout.
But most of the men that I find attractive are often so because of charismatic or personality traits and such right away. Actually, to jump back to the romance novel aspect... Powerful men are VERY attractive. Unless they're jerkbags but that's a different topic altogether.
Dante of Devil May Cry. Axton of Borderlands 2. Chris Redfield of Resident Evil oh yes please. Leon Kennedy (specially after that facelift he got in RE6). And in the case of these games, they're there too. Wakka is a dorky loveable hunk of a dude. So on and so forth. And all of them dressed pretty conservatively.
But of course that's not to say that I don't want the personality of female characters either. I wouldn't give a crud about Yuna, Lulu, Moxxi, Bayonetta and etc. if they were just... really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people. You can be a flat character personality, but you can also be a really ♥♥♥♥♥ one, and that kills attractiveness.
So in the end... I dunno. I'm gonna be attracted to what I like. But I think there's something inherently less attractive about a dude flashing body parts off, compared to a woman doing it. I wouldn't much care for Dante in a speedo.
Rikku's outfit is in the 'too far' category though. Tips way too close to being outright nude to be sexy. Just bleh.
So when are we going to start seeing dudes in nothing more than string thongs every other game? I mean surely all these male characters wearing much more clothing than female characters is endangering the human race and all. Don't forget the jiggle physics on their junk.
I mean, if it was all about attraction, surely I would LOVE seeing Lightning in nothing more than a tiny bikini in Lightning Returns, since I'm a lesbian, right? It's not like it was completely unnecessary and impractical for the vast majority of outfits in that game to be revealing.
