tools and weapons
i think it would be nice if not only were weapons giving more types. and by that i mean you can have a melee and a long range. but also if there were thing like tools people could use. what i mean here is that for example i had a pawn that was unablle to fight they were a house mate but a hoe from a mod was bought and it gave a buff to farming but it still counts as a weapons. the option for things lik that to be tools over weapons and thus not conflit with pawns that can use weapons would be nice

There are mods that do this.

I think what he's saying is he wants a mod that adds a tool equipment category, instead of tools as weapons, so that non-violent colonists could equip them. He's probably using Toolmetrics since he mentioned a shovel, that mod has a few tool belts, but ya the main effects come from the actual weapons.

I use this mod instead of simple side arms:

It's much more compatible with other mods, and it saves a drafted and undrafted weapon selection so you can have colonists running around with tools and as soon as you draft them they pull out their real weapons. I don't know of any mods that allow non-violent colonists to easily equip weapons these days, but I haven't really looked because I simply don't recruit or allow any of them to join my colony anymore. They can't equip tools, they can't man mortars, so they are no longer allowed to exist in my world.

thats what i ment (and the mod i was talking about was ratkin said ratkin were heavy farmers so mod added a ratkin hoe)
