To beta or not to beta.. that is the question!
Wondering if its a good idea currently to set beta updates for both steam and steamvr.
Anyone having issues? Last time i set both to beta, i had all kinds of issues getting my vive running right.

I've been using the beta version of Steam for some years now, including Steam VR beta since the early Oculus days and rarely have issues that cause me not being able to play/use/etc, so I'm in favour of using the beta version of Steam (...with caution of course) :ContractorRush:

"to play The Lab or not" is the real question.
I can't get the Robot Repair or several other minigames to play on the beta build.

In Valve's setup guide they specifically recommend using the beta version for now. Important updates are coming in hot and there's not enough time to properly test them as Valve normally would. Sometimes things break or don't work as well as a previous beta, but overall the beta versions work better than the stable version for the moment.

In a few weeks, maybe a month or two at most, enough SteamVR bugs will hopefully have been solved that the stable version will be the one non-developers should use.

Is this still the case with the most recent beta? I had random crashing in The Lab using the beta version a few weeks ago but since then SteamVR's beta version has been updated multiple times and The Lab also got a >100 MB update.

It was crashing the lab for me on Saturday (when I switched back) so I got off the beta and it started working again.
