Because Prism3D, the engine powering the game, which is 10 year old, was never meant to do that and it would need a few years to adapt it / transform it. SCS is not Ubisoft or EA, they don't have enough money to create a new game engine from scratch.
I know what you mean. IF it can be done, it wouldn't be such a bad thing. An over-heating radiator, cracked windshield, busted headlights, dented fenders, etc.
I mean if we can knock over lampposts, traffic signs, and such, a bit of collateral damage would just add to the immersion of the game.
I don't think this would have an effect on a license agreement, unless I had one in hand.
I am missing a damage model as well and if only to simulate wear and tear on ,y equipment making me WANT to find a repair station. Heck I d settle with dirt and dust :)
The reason given in the past "the manufacturers didnt agree to a damage model becuase they feared bad rep" was logical to me and I accept it. I am with you tho that the game would be SUPERIOR with it. I dont think we ll ever see it in ETS2 but maybe if enough people would like to have such a feature it ll happen in future games.
have a nice day
