I don't have tested it (nor will i) but in theory one could put the numbers for the car/trucktraffic to 0....but i have no idea if then really no ai traffic roams the streets or not.
PS: Lone Wolf, if you don`t know, don`t say anything. Thank you.
and then search for G_Traffic and then change the numbers behind it safe and start the game
@Lone Wolf yes you can turn it off even whitout mods
put the number that is 1.0 to a 0,0 is compleetly turn off traffic AI
but iff you still want some traffic you can make it 0.1 though the reason i dont like the AI traffic is they just drive in to you or sorta races whit the other lane so you can never pass them
I don't know back then in 2014 but nowadays there certainly exist mods for "no traffic". I think they basically set the g_traffic parameter to 0.0.
Indeed, here is one example that I for one use:

Searching the "Workshop"-section with words
"no traffic"
gives few other options also.

You all over-complicating a simple matter.
If you want to change the traffic level according to your mood, it is convenient to enable the console and enter the command 'g_traffic x.x' to change it instantly without restarting the game.
I am not a "real gamer". I prefer the in-game possibilities, both simple options and maybe more advanced configuration.
This reminds me of a conversation on a gaming forum
Discussion: a mod feature in certain game
op: is there any way I can have this on PS5?
replies: wait, you invested $400 on that crap?

It's simply the convenience of having an "on/off"-switch:
Like E.G. sure, I could always just unscrew the light-bulb, detach the wire, or something else to "cut" the power. But a simple wall-mount or other switch makes the while thing much more convenient (and safer).
Or I could always "jump" a motherboard without power / "PWR_SW"-button by using a screwdriver. But a separate button still is a bit more convenient.

You would like to post a screenshot;
I have re-checked the option-section and I for one certainly ain't (still) not finding an option-toggle for the AI/CPU/NPC-car-traffic
( unless of course the "mod" also hide the toggle from the option-menu ).
