A few changes I think really ruin the experience.
This dimming mirror was the worst idea they've ever implemented.
I hope there's a console command to turn it off.
It's not just the mirror that dims, it seems the shadow that is cast in the cab also has an effect on the mirror, I think it's just something that needs to be ironed out, certainly hope so, it's like they're using a 4 stop ND filter.
But that is feedback that should go on the SCS Forum.
And it's very illusion-destroying when there's no shadow but it gets dark in the mirror.:

As for base versions - I'm concerned that my preference might be one before the UI rework as I'm worried that the new look really won't work for me (no, I still have not yet tried it myself, been busy playing other games recently). But I can't say for certain until I've tested it, so I'm not gonna judge just yet.
Ats full map all DLC MAP 55fps to 90fps Works great Gpu 37 max
The game engine, graphics and everything else apart from scenery data and truck skins is identical in both games, so any difference in performance is entirely due to your settings, not any fault with the game.
Both run perfectly @60 fps on an RTX 3060 12 Gb in 2560x1440 and all GFX detail on high or ultra. Playing on 1.42 means no new trucks, no new map DLC and no joining WoT events, so no, thank you.
Why the hell they are killing their own game? If they wanted to swith api, it's better to use vulcan, and not outdated direct x 11, it was always terrible.
Again, no system or settings information given. No useful help or definitive answers can be given if you expect us to just guess what your PC system and settings are.
I can absolutely assure you that the game and ATS runs perfectly @60 fps in 2560x1440 on an RTX 3060 12 Gb, Ryzen 5 2600 and 16 Gb of 3 Ghz RAM, with GFX detail on high or ultra and scaling 150%.

Things to try:
If you've previously used the TAA graphics mod, delete all files from it.
Make sure the game and Steam are not running in compatibility mode.
Make sure your Windows swap file is set to 'system managed'
Disable the NVIDIA overlay
Disable the Discord overlay
Disable the Steam overlay.
Do not have any programs running in the background, especially Discord, browsers, Internet chat or messaging.
Reduce any scaling back to 100%
Don't overclock your GPU, even if it is factory overclocked.
You may need more than 20GB free on the system drive for swap files
If you are on NVIDIA and have previously used the Profile Inspector for better anti-aliasing, all SCS profiles MUST be restored to driver default, for game version 1.50.
If you use DSR, deactivate it.
Clean all system fans, make sure all grilles are free from dust and the cooling works properly for the system, the PSU, the GPU and CPU.
Always make sure your graphics drivers and Windows are both fully up to date.
Some anti-virus programs can cause a crash on start. You only need to use Windows Defender, that is the most reliable anti-virus and firewall program for Windows. Third-party paid for software is not needed.
Btw. the game was always mostly running on a single core.
