Is the emergency Braking System is working as it should?
i updated to 1.47 and i tired to test the emergency braking system tried to drive without braking and throttle at 30km/h for upcoming cars ahead id did not execute the function, do i need to do it with adaptive cruise control enabled?

i cant get mine to work either. ive been running into tons of stuff and it doesn't stop. it works on the american game. but not this one. ill try a little bit more but i think its just an issue the developers made

you don't have mods or anything do you? i don't.

i verified my game files. maybe we are just going too fast. when i slow down and go towards a building it does its job really well. so try verifying files and going slower towards things. let me know if that works

The whole poiint that it detects an upciming collision from like 20 meters away and then instantly brakes and activates your hazard lights and it does even messes with your throttle

If you slow down? doesnt it needs to slow you down?

i agree. i completely ruined one of the jobs i was doing in euro truck sim trying to test the feature out and it not working. but i also gathered my car still slows down. it maybe just doesn't slow down fast enough.

I turned emergency brake off and adaptive cruise control on. When I got close to an AI car (when using cruise control) at a speed of 95 kmm/h (drove in UK) and the car in front of me was doing like 50 km/h my truck slowed down to same speed without crashing. When the car in front of me speeded up so did my truck.
Did the same in ATS yesterday but with emergency brake on - it did work but it wasnt as smooth as with it off.

So my conclusion is that it is enough just having the adaptive cruise control enabled and have your foot "ready" to brake if needed and just let it be. The truck slows down enough anyway even from a relatively high speed.

(My setting is 40 meters for adaptive cruise control)

If you mean with that it was not as smooth that the brakes got slammed so that your truck comes to a stop as fast as possible......yes, that is how the emergency brakes work.

AAC is just there to let you have an appropriate safety distance and is not meant for emergency brake uses.

Exactly - My experience with it was that it was very abrupt, and yes thats the way it is supposed to be, but it felt bad like unneeded.
It was like a heavy engine break totally not called for. I had the same effect with the emergency brake off but without the engine brake.
Smoother driving and adjusted speed to what was in front of me without a crash. But still with my left foot ready at the break pedal if needed (and it wasnt needed)

Ah yeah.
That is how that stuff works in real life too.
if it detects something (and it can just be something staying still at the roadside in a corner) it tries to get you to a immediate stop.

That is why i wont turn the Emergency brake on, as it is bad if the system tries to get you to a stop.....at 80km/h on a highway just because someone thought it is a good idea to get in front of you......i bet real truck drivers can tell you stories about such things....

Hello everyone. I also tried the Emergency Brake and in my opinion it works horrible. i tried it and i did slow down my like i shoud but it started doing that like half a meter distance between my truck and the one ia the front. So of course it coudnt break in time and i crash every time using it. So in my opinion it needs a lot more time of developing

Yes definitely doesnt work as advertised it like starting to slow down a little bit but no hazard lights and no throttle minipulation and i was closing to the truck ahead so fast i just did emergency break and stopped myself.

I'll just ask y'all this. your foot is working right? you see an incoming collision? just slam the brakes like a man lmao.

I haven't tried it in ETS yet, but I did experiment a little in ATS, and I found it a little quirky. One time when I was trying to turn around in a tight depot, I was turning hard left towards the entrance and crawling slowly to make the turn with a wall in front of me, but the braking system kept detecting the wall and slamming on even though I was only doing 4 or 5 mph. Had to have several stop-starts before I got turned enough that it no longer saw the building in front of me and let me proceed.
