The whole poiint that it detects an upciming collision from like 20 meters away and then instantly brakes and activates your hazard lights and it does even messes with your throttle
Did the same in ATS yesterday but with emergency brake on - it did work but it wasnt as smooth as with it off.
So my conclusion is that it is enough just having the adaptive cruise control enabled and have your foot "ready" to brake if needed and just let it be. The truck slows down enough anyway even from a relatively high speed.
(My setting is 40 meters for adaptive cruise control)
If you mean with that it was not as smooth that the brakes got slammed so that your truck comes to a stop as fast as possible......yes, that is how the emergency brakes work.
AAC is just there to let you have an appropriate safety distance and is not meant for emergency brake uses.
It was like a heavy engine break totally not called for. I had the same effect with the emergency brake off but without the engine brake.
Smoother driving and adjusted speed to what was in front of me without a crash. But still with my left foot ready at the break pedal if needed (and it wasnt needed)
Ah yeah.
That is how that stuff works in real life too.
if it detects something (and it can just be something staying still at the roadside in a corner) it tries to get you to a immediate stop.
That is why i wont turn the Emergency brake on, as it is bad if the system tries to get you to a stop.....at 80km/h on a highway just because someone thought it is a good idea to get in front of you......i bet real truck drivers can tell you stories about such things....
I'll just ask y'all this. your foot is working right? you see an incoming collision? just slam the brakes like a man lmao.
