Parking a trailer, more XP or money, please!
Well, its amazing game and I love to play it, but parking a trailer is something which needs some improvements! I mean this: you drive like 15 min trip and want end the job quickly, but you need park a trailer. So, the game gives you only 45 XP rewards. Its like nothing. Parking a trailer perfectly is more challenging than driving itself. Also there is even more difficult parking slots. They should increase XP much more or give extra money. I usually just skip whole parking scene, because I get easily 50 XP for driving an empty truck to the gas station or the repair. What do you think?

So you wants to get paid extra for parking the trailer at a place where you're meant to deliver? That's just not realistic, let alone silly although extra experience probably would do the trick.

Either way, I often park the trailer. NEVER ever skip park. That's lazy! ;)

Yes its not realistic, but this is a game. ;) Why they give 45 XP at all...

It's such a small thing, at the end of the delivery.
That's why you get such a little reward from doing that.
Asking for more, would be silly.

If you really want a higher amount, I'm sure there's some mod somewhere that allows you do alter these numbers (or even a config you can take a peak at).

When you're a level below 5, 45 xp is really a lot,
When you're a level above 20, 45 xp is really nothing.

Length & size of the trailer should be a xp factor.

Parked a standard size trailer in a standard delivery spot ? Meh, here's your 2 xp.
Parked a 75 feet trailer with a wide load in a narrow spot ? Wow, here's your 200 xp

Well, one solution is remove skipping ability. Then you get your price after you have done the job. For now its like: why I bother myself to spend minutes for parking? Only if I want really roleplay my driver I can do that, but in game its not worth of it.

If you look at the trailers for american truck sim, they have put three parking slots in the destinations. 1, 2 and 3 star. By the looks of the trailer, the xp from parking depends on which slot you put the trailer in.

I would like to see that implemented in ETS

Wow thats cool improvement for sure! I wish also they will put it in ETS... and I will get American Truck sim when its done. :)

Parking a trailer should be a core element in a truck sim in my opinion. Thats why I started this thread because now in the game parking is not worth of it.

Firstly parking a trailer is half the fun in the game and if your skipping it your missing out! I do agree that parking a trailer in a more difficult spot should give you more experience but not more money.

Yeah maybe more exprience would be a good solution. Its fair and also realistic when there is diffent spots to park.

I dont skip all my parking scenes, but after a long driving I feel its not worth to try.

In "/def/economy_data.sii" modify "exp_park_bonus" to the value you want.
myarmor Jul 4, 2015 @ 9:18am
I would be all for a somewhat higher experience award for locations with higher difficulty,
while keeping the measly 45 (or maybe even lowering it) for those wide-open spaces in the
older quarries (not those in Scandinavia) and similar.

So you want a bigger reward for doing your job? You are a truck driver and part of being one is parking the trailer. You already get paid for doing the job that is your reward. I don't think they need to raise the XP given for doing your job.

I raised the same point 2 years ago. 45 xp to park is no insentive. And with some crazy unloading spots in some mod maps it just wastes time form earning extra dosh.. I park once in a while for fun but that's maybe one out of every ten jobs. The bonus xp should simply be removed completely because it is no bonus!!!.

No, experience.. for not using the parking-service, especially where you'd have to use more
than two braincells to park it yourself. For the simple locations it could stay as it is, or
maybe even lowered a bit.

If I remember correctly, the ADR (or was it cars) cargo company in Kristiansand was a bit harder to do without damage than a in-city/german quarry (at least at lv 28).

My point is that the reward is not enough. Why I should bother myself to park a trailer, when I get better XP for free driving for example? And everyone knows that a parking is more difficult than driving and it should be in focus in a truck game. Question is why I should do parking if I can just skip it and lose nothing?
