How to play best with a friend
Hello guys,
me and a friend never play a game like that but we both got a Logitech G29 wheel and want to give this a try.
What is the best way to play it? Can you play the "campaign" together? Like working for the same company or such?

You can't join the same company, no. However you can join a game together and pull the same loads to the same destination, so long as you both have unlocked the skills to pull said loads and have any required DLCs installed. And you could paint your trucks up in the same colours if you wish, so it would be as if you were driving for the same outfit, even though you both have separate money accounts and separate garages to buy/NPC drivers working for you.

So does he have any limits when I am the host and he just joins the game or is it like he would play solo but I'm with him on the map?
And can you go instantly into multiplayer or do you have to play a tutorial first or something like that?

Your friend is limited by the DLCs they own. If you own e.g. France DLC and your friend doesn't then you can drive to France but not your friend. Same goes for cargo DLC.
The tutorial needs to be done first AFAIK.

ok the very basics
at the beginning you don't have your own truck yet. you have to do quick jobs to earn some money then the 'bank' will pitch you an offer for a loan. for around 100k-120k you can buy your own truck and start picking up company trailers (/w goods). later you can get your own trailers and pickup goods on their own.

the native multiplayer in the game is called convoi. once he joined you drive on the same map/world. you can pick up the same jobs so you will drive the same route. its not mandatory to do the same jobs but then you only do it for having simulated CB radio.

to do the same jobs you have to have the same map dlc. for example: if you have iberia and take a job and he doesn't, then he won't see that job offer

haven't played convoi myself only seen in on other peoples streams so I am not sure if you can do quick jobs together.

edit: sidenote - there was no mouse next to his name when I wrote this

It's largely like playing solo, but with a friend. If you hosted and he had a map expansion you did not, he would be able to visit that map area, but you would not be able. And if he had a cargo pack you did not, he would be able to haul that cargo, and you would see it on his trailer, but you would not be able to take that job yourself.

There is a small tutorial at first, but that is usually just one short job from a depot within your starting city to another depot within the same city. After that you have to take jobs from other companies to build up cash to buy your own truck - I have only played online after buying my own truck, but as far as I remember these quick jobs are also available online too, so you should be able to do those together. Jobs that are offered are not synced up between players, so one of you would have to pick a job to do, then the other player clicks on their name and selects to 'join' that job, that will permit you to haul the same cargo from the same place and to the same destination.

Then when you get enough cash you can buy your own truck and drive around as you wish, but the jobs work similarly. You just look for trailers to pull, one of you could pick one, then the other can select to join and will be able to pick up their own version of the trailer from the same depot.

All EXP and money rewards are the same in multiplayer as they are in single player, and the game takes a save of your status before you go online so that, when you log out, you have the option to accept any progress made or revert to the save before. So if something goes wrong, you will always have an option to roll back and fix whatever issue you had.

The only thing that is majorly different between single player and multi is the rest stops - in single player when you rest, time advances in the world. But on multi you just stop at a rest area, then you get a message 'You went to get a coffee' and your energy bar fills again...time does not speed up.
