Then don't drive in the UK. They are the only ones driving on the left.

imagine being from the uk. nowhere is safe. everywhere is strange. maybe if i can drive in japan then it would be good.

I think it's whatever you get used to. We drive on the left where I'm from but I don't have any problem driving on the right, in real life or in Euro Truck. When I first got the game I caught myself on the wrong side a couple of times but now it just feels natural.

I am a "virtual UK resident" with living real life in Germany and my ETS2 base being in the UK. And I can tell you, I have no issues whatsoever driving on the left, and also not changing to the Continent and driving on the right. My trucks are meanwhile all UK layout with RHD. Used an old 1980es Iveco mod for some time though and that was LHD only and had no issues on either side of the Channel as well.

You could maybe make a separate profile to safely try out driving on the left. Just take some quick jobs in the UK. If something bad happens, it at least won't have happened on your main profile.

I think In Euro Truck it is. Northern Ireland is in the UK but Ireland isn't and they drive on the left there but you need Promods to drive there in the game.

Hey don't apologise bud, its easy to see every post on hear as a moan sometimes and some people are weary so their own comments may come across negative. As Woof said you should try living here.... everywhere else in the world is wrong wrong wrong lol. That said though i do spend most of my time driving around europe not the UK.... go figure lmao

Then guess, what UK players need to go through, when 95% of europe drives on the right side^^

I myself like to go to the UK every now and then, just because it's somewhat refreshing. Feels quite strange the first few times, but it's not that hard to get used to it.

also being from the US it's a bit different. I just have to focus at the big intersections and remind myself where I'm at and stay in the proper lanes. other than that getting around is no problem for me. I can only use trucks with steering on the left. whenever I tried the UK set up I would feel motion sickness.

and yes ATS and ETS2 are both great games. ETS2 is just quite a bit greater :longhaul:

Personally I don't have any issue, driving on the wrong side of the road or side of the truck. Never left the US.

The thing is, being from a LHD country doesn't matter. Motorcycles ride in different portions of the lane depending on many factors, including visibility. They are very fluid in driving in varying locations. Likewise, most drivers, at some point, have driven on the left edge of the road, either for parking, fast-food drive-thru, or even their driveway. It's not all that different from standard driving in the US.

and mostly every fast food drive-thru in the US that has been open over a year has dents and scrape marks all over them.

Right now it is the only one, at least without mod maps. And all over Europe only Ireland, Cyprus and in 1:20 scale very tiny Malta still to come.

I just recently moved(in game) to the UK for a while and it did take some getting used to, but probably as much because the truck I bought feels different as being on the left side of the road. I did turn onto the wrong side of the road a couple times but I think I'm done with that.

My biggest issue is that the route advisor is faaar wonkier here than anywhere else I've driven, and I don't use the red line while driving. So some intersections and highway exits can get rather interesting.

I'm all over the place on this one.

I live in the UK, so I'm used to cars driving on the left. But I don't drive myself, so have no experience of it on real roads.

However I do have my HQ in the UK, as the atmosphere of the place feels more familiar. And yet I use all my trucks in European cab configuration because I spend the majority of my time on the game driving in RHD countries.

And to top it off, I grew up on old driving computer games which were mostly set in the US, such as the Driver series and Midnight Club.

So for me, I don't have a side of the road that I particularly favour for driving games in general. Rather, I approach each game largely as a clean slate, and then get used to that game's requirements individually. This does mean that, because I spend most of my time on the right in ETS, I have gotten used to playing this game on that side, and so have occasionally been caught out when returning to the UK and having to make that switch. But this is quite rare that such a thing happens, and usually it only has to catch me out once before it clicks in my head and I have no issues remembering from that point on.
