1: Trucks. Ever since I was a child, I've always had a fascination for trucks (or lorries as we call them here in the UK)
2: Chilled out driving. Sometimes it's nice to have a bit of chilled driving rather than hammering round an F1 track at 150mph.
Incidentally, the newer DLC sections are less copy and paste. Iberia is particularly detailed and nice to drive.
like he said driving in ets 2 and ats is the most relaxing thing to do. i have 1500 hrs in ets 2 and 1200 hrs in ats. i love trucks. ever since my dad passed away i've been heavily playing ats and ets 2. i love the whining from turbos, its relaxing and peaceful listening to the turbos.
The record is well over 50,000 hours...and if you have to ask....well then respectfully I say...you don't get it. It's a chill game that is really relaxing...the scenery is amazing...and you just put on some tunes...or a podcast...or whatever....and cruise. That's the magic.
I had a dream of to be a Truckdriver in real life, but i can't do that, because i can't get a license to drive trucks because of a healt problem with my lower back, With this game how stupid you will think it will sound my dream come true, i can drive around in Europe as a Truckdriver and see the world this way. And yes im one of the guys there have over 6.000 hours in the game and still get more, i have played this game since 2012 when it came out on DVD even before if was on Steam and i never get boring in it.
when that is said we all have diffrents opion of what game we love, i play ETS2, ATS and Farming Simulator. Thats the game i love, some others love to play Zombie and Shooting games thats not me.
So we all play what we love must i hope. Keep on truckin see you all, there love this game on the road in a near future.
Speaking personally though, I never liked fast paced action or in-your-face intensity which most games go for nowadays. I struggle with sensory overload so if there's too much going on at once I just can't cope with it. I also hate games which are cripplingly difficult - my real life has been a tale of pain, despair and suffering for decades, and I play games to escape that not to prolong it.
What I do like in games is:
1) Exploration. I have an itch to always see what's over the next hill or see the sight from the top of that mountain, so I love games which give me a huge world to discover.
2) Sandbox creativity. I like to be able to write my own story and express myself in the games I play and the achievements I gain in them, not be stuck to a preset list of mind-numbing challenges.
3) Resource gathering and management. While it isn't my biggest draw, I've always had a bit of an organisational flair.
4) Relaxation. I need games which I can sit back and chill to, not games which tire me out so much that when I finish playing I feel more exhausted than when I began.
ETS and ATS have those elements for me. There is a huge amount of exploration, and while some areas look similar, it certainly isn't just copy and paste everywhere...there's some really beautiful sights to see in places like the alps and scandinavia. It's a sandbox game where I'm free to just explore where I wish and do what I want. Although the resource management elements are small, there is a degree of it involved in running the company, hiring drivers and buying trucks for them to run. And it's very relaxing and chill.
And considering the playernumbers, the game is doing well. Especially for a niche game. And let's be honest ETS2 and ATS are niche.
So what would you say is a none boring game?
5031.5 hours as of right now... and it is still my favourite game... and I have quite a few games.
Yet another hidden profile troll with nothing better to do.
Haven't you got a bridge to look after?
If it is so boring then why did you buy it? There is a free demo available which is showing you pretty much what to expect in the game. That should have been the end.
