Looking for rev-accurate car mods
Hi, all! I've been looking for street car mods but have been disappointed with everything I've tried so far. My main issue is that the revs do not behave in a realistic way, or aren't reported at all. Has anyone found a quality mod that keeps revs realistic? Thank you in advance!

Nope and it will never happen because the car mods are, essentially, just reskinned TRUCKS and so they rev, accelerate, turn and brake like a truck

TRUCK Sim Not a car sim :steamsalty:
Why use car mods in the first place? When this game is purely focused on truck simulator, do you intended to haul 60t cargo at 300km/h? Does it improve the overall gameplay? If you want to play racing game or sim racing games there are a lot out there.

Who said anything about racing? I use ETS2 as a driving simulator rather than a strict trucking simulator. There isn't any other game out there that offers the features, world, graphics and style that ETS2 has when it comes to a real world driving simulation.
Obviously mods aren't supported by SCS, but I'm sure there are users who do have an interest and use cars, even occasionally, who may want something like this or be able to answer this question.

The big issue around car mods for both ATS and ETS 2 is that many are not developed long term. Someone produces something basic and yet functional, but then they don't keep developing an improving that mod to drive and behave like the car does.

The worst car mods are a truck with a car skin, but with a truck engine and transmission, also truck suspension. If you are lucky then some work is done to lessen the truck behaviour, but it never seems to get to the point were these mods survive 2-3 game updates before falling back into not being supported.

Along come another car mod and it is rinse and repeat....

There are a couple of different BMW mods, one is apparently poor and another is supposed to be better. The TruckersMP mod has a Skoda car mod which has been used by them for a few game versions - I do not know how well this mod works or any other that they may have. Might be worth checking out the TruckerMP web site and try to find out if these are available elsewhere.

Well most of the time when a car mod is used in ETS2 most only do racing or even if they don't use car mods they look for higher engine power and driving their trucks at high speeds is no different from using a car mod, been there done that and experienced it on ETS2 convoy and TruckersMP, sometimes other players instead of enjoying a leisure delivery others race towards it crashing into stuff.

Hey, guys. Thank you all for your replies. As J Francesco said, I'm looking for a car mod because ETS2 offers the most realistic driving experience I've ever seen. I want to teach people in my household how to drive using something close to the car we have at home and figured it could work. Apparently, I was mistaken. I'll just try to use the truck without a trailer and take it from there. Peace!

The vehicle physics in this game are based around trucks and so you will never get a realistic car driving simulation. If you want a more authentic car driving simulation without the racing then you want something like Car Physics Simulator or BeamNG.Drive
