Guys who play as female characters, why?

Man I can't count on 200 hands how many guys I've seen and met who has a female character. Its the mods isn't it?

I can't understand that either. I always play as a male character in games that let me choose. It feels more comfortable to me. Also I like making self inserts quite often. A female character would only make me dysphoric then.
I'm probably the 1% of guys who plays male characters. Then also I'm not a gooner who needs to get horny about everything. Also I really don't like the voices of female characters most of teh time. They're annoying and too high in my opinion.

A lot of gamers are attention-deprived and look for a frustration reliever, or mostly feel good looking at their female characters. Physical attraction to imaginary characters isn't new. Nobody is going to deny that Lara Croft's appearance was a big selling point of the first Tomb Raider.

I'll always remember that video of a dude taken red handed masturbating in his dorm to his WoW Blood Elf, or whatever is the name of the race.
That level of thirst is frankly quite pathetic, and I feel pity for people like that.

I make as much female characters as male characters, mostly alternating with each game from a series. Man in MH Freedom Unite, woman in 4 Ultimate, man in Generations Ultimate, man in World, woman in Rise, and once again male in Wilds. My wife always make either me or Tom Hiddleston in her games, it's not different for women.

Role play consideration are totally valid, but let's be honest here and say that's not the most important reason for most players.

I never liked the Kamen Rider armors we had in the past for male characters. I also do not like the female "dressified" armors like Brachydios, but you could often just swap those pieces with more subtle belts/pants.

I got so used to it that I made another female character that basically looks the very same since my first char in MH1 - despite the removal of gender locked armor pieces.

However, in most cases I also made an additional male character to wear stuff like the male Ruiner Nergigante beta set, for instance.

There are two types of players.

Those who see them selves as their characters

Those who narrate the characters or they just like playing as the opposite gender for eye candy reasons.

Each side will find the other weird for but i will say from personal experience with people who ask these questions, they are usually insecure about them selves and are afraid to play outside their own gender for certain reasons.

And i know you people like ignoring this one but girls do this too, they will play male characters for similar reasons guys play females.
