High rank or Tempered difficulty for farming rare gems?

I need the rey dau boltgem and the Jin Dahaad icegem. Is it faster if I just farm the high rank monster or I get an increased drop rate if I farm the tempered one?

Fastest is to join a multiplayer investigation and look for the item in the reward menu. Then join that game.

This is the answer, go to your handler, scroll down to SOS, filter to the highest stars (7 or 8) and look for monsters that are dropping lots of rare gems. Super easy, incredibly fast.
