Generally. Faster a monster dies. Less Opportunity for someone to die.
Also there's ways of making wounds quickly anyway so. Not really any point in not just destroying them as they pop up.
Just food for thought. Play with friends if you have specific strategies.
whenever i use bow though, dragon piercers just pop it for me even if i aim quite a bit away, prolly due to the massive hitboxes
Also wounds can be destroyed (healed) by attacking which is counter intuitive instead of leaving a permanent weakspot on monster.
I play how I want. For MY enjoyment!
A solution for it would be only seeing the wounds you made, but I still like being able to make use of a wounding skill that my entire team can take advantage of. Maybe I'm just too much of a team player.
There's also a VC. And a Text. Where you can attempt to let people know what you plan.
Or... I dunno... don't hamstring your entire hunting party waiting for you to decide if you're going to heal up or drink a potion like a normal person? The set bonus doesn't read "you can only heal from wounds, delete all potions from your loadout."
If you spec for extra damage via weakness exploit, you need to realize that popping a wound happens at a set threshold. You aren't "gaining" damage by holding the wound over a focus strike. You're popping a wound slower. And I can't remember if you still get the burst of "pop" damage or not, which would tip it ridiculously further into popping's favor, or be neutral if both methods do it.
Lastly, as mentioned above, if you spec so heavily into wounds and join multiplayer hunts expecting to have everyone bend over backwards every second of the hunt to make sure you enjoy yourself before all others. Yeah, you're in the wrong. It's random multiplayer. Wounds are a bonus.
