HR Wounds: you're prob doing it wrong
About 90% of "High Rank" players (and I'm being generous) are still just focus striking to focus strike. Hopefully, a few people see this and it improves everyone's experience.

So, if you are FS (focus striking) a wound as soon as it pops or because you like big damage..... stop.

There are a lot of reasons to keep a wound open. A lot of skills interact with the new mechanic so destroying them instantly isn't always the best option. You prob even have a skill that causes you to do more damage to wounded body parts (not just by FS). If the monster is downed, you don't get a whole lot of benefit from destroying it. Some weapons do more than just damage. For example, if your LS teammate is on Yellow charge, you can let him break for the Red. If you are a 2 weapon "main" you are most likely are just screwing over your teammates, because you don't know what the other weapons capabilities are. If you see a guy heal to full when he destroys a wound...... let him do that when he is low health. I promise you, that's his whole build.

Just food for thought. Be a team player. Good Hunting.

If someone is building in a very *Very* Specific way that is requiring certain conditions to be met. And are playing with a bunch of randoms and not a team of friends that discussed the strategy beforehand. Then that's their fault. You can't expect a bunch of Quick-match hunters to assume What people are building.

Generally. Faster a monster dies. Less Opportunity for someone to die.

Also there's ways of making wounds quickly anyway so. Not really any point in not just destroying them as they pop up.

Just food for thought. Play with friends if you have specific strategies.
normally if i use melee i dont care to pop wounds at all cuz focus mode just makes me have narrow fov and i gotta toggle it its just annoying

whenever i use bow though, dragon piercers just pop it for me even if i aim quite a bit away, prolly due to the massive hitboxes

Sorry to say but randos tend not to be good team players, so.... you're lucky to get those.

I'm HBG main and I only target wounds where melee can't reach and once they've been up for more than 20 seconds.

I feel certain Weapons deserve priority when it comes to wounds. LS increases their gauge level, Chargeblade charges their Axe mod, and Insect Glaive gets all of their buffs. However you can't expect the whole community to just know this off beat. Obviously if you're in a group of friends you can explain it to them, but expecting perfection from randos is asking for too much.

If I see a wound on the head as a hammer, I will focus strike it. Got to get as many knock outs as I can.

Wound is just stupid by design. It's an extra resources for your weapon but shared among teammates. It works perfectly when you are fighting alone but works terrible when fighting coop. Imagine wirebugs are shared in Rise/SB.

Also wounds can be destroyed (healed) by attacking which is counter intuitive instead of leaving a permanent weakspot on monster.

Well, I'm glad most of you get it. It is impossible to list all the scenarios. It is weird to me that some people are defending being THAT GUY. I give the benefit of the doubt that some people just don't know. If you know and you still do it... why are you playing in a team? You can play solo. You're not obligated to be a team player, but you are obligated to not just be a ♥♥♥♥.

A solution for it would be only seeing the wounds you made, but I still like being able to make use of a wounding skill that my entire team can take advantage of. Maybe I'm just too much of a team player.

People are also not obligated to send out or respond to SoS Flares.

There's also a VC. And a Text. Where you can attempt to let people know what you plan.

Are you upset that you're THAT GUY Kobold?

If you spec fully into utilizing wounds, you should probably be fast at popping them too. Maybe you don't get them all, but wounds can be activated by multiple people. So... pop them? If you need a heal, and have the set, maybe pop that wound?

Or... I dunno... don't hamstring your entire hunting party waiting for you to decide if you're going to heal up or drink a potion like a normal person? The set bonus doesn't read "you can only heal from wounds, delete all potions from your loadout."

If you spec for extra damage via weakness exploit, you need to realize that popping a wound happens at a set threshold. You aren't "gaining" damage by holding the wound over a focus strike. You're popping a wound slower. And I can't remember if you still get the burst of "pop" damage or not, which would tip it ridiculously further into popping's favor, or be neutral if both methods do it.

Lastly, as mentioned above, if you spec so heavily into wounds and join multiplayer hunts expecting to have everyone bend over backwards every second of the hunt to make sure you enjoy yourself before all others. Yeah, you're in the wrong. It's random multiplayer. Wounds are a bonus.

No one cares if you actively choose to not even think about you're team. You do You.
