I feel like that video that was posted was even weirder because it basically decided tiers based on the results weapons got for just 1 monster.
Now all we need is a usj event for the armour and itll be perfect
Good to know.
Well having a monster as a unit of measurement makes sense for times but if things are bugged and or we are just picking and choosing this early into the game with possible changes around the corner... depending of course. i dunno.
The current list made in this topic make's some sense. But this also heavily reliant on the Hunter in question as well as if the build is working properly and or if the weapon type is a bad line up with the monster. While all weapons are viable to a certain extent some are going to struggle depending on the unit of measurement via kill times. so there's just a lot to digest i guess?
Cause i've watched a few and some are just all over the place.
Hammer and HH being at the bottom make sense cause they are burst weapons relying on lining up their hits and stunning/status build ups unless your just a god at using offset attacks to interrupt monster attacks to open them up for more damage.
everything else seems kinda right depending on how much damage they can get in as well as wound popping.
Its a combination of time spent & potential max dps.
If you dont like that your favourite weapon is trash tier and want to create an alternate reality where your trash tier weapon isnt trash by adding a bunch of variables no one cares about thats fine, but dont try to undermine what actually determines the best weapons which is time to kill (speed) & potential max dps. Anything else is just cope.
People should play what they find fun, how many people in this thread are speedrunners?
Probably zero.
Im no speedrunner, but i did record a couple of good runs with gunlance, I got 2:40 and 2:38 (its no where near the 1:30 runs or anything but not horrid either)
on tempered arkveld (both using the rock drops ofc)
Not being a speedrunner is also not an argument, because the differences in times between the top 7 and bottom weapons is quite significant, more than 2 minutes in some cases, even an average player is going to find they probably succeed easier and kill things quicker with the stronger weapons than weaker ones simply because of the nature of how big the difference is in potential max dps.
I use a gunlance and have since the day it was introduced in the PSP days and didn't even have the big booms or stake. By your logic I should accept the spoon-fed nonsense you're pushing.
I am not trying to recreate anything. You just don't know how to play monster hunter if the only thing you care about is how long it takes to down something. No wonder this forum is filled with people arguing about captures and part acquisition.
You guys don't seem to know know what the hell you're doing, if I'm being blunt.
in what world, is killing something fastest and that has the highest potential dps not the most important metrics for knowing whats best?
If the thing is dead and the only thing that changes how quick it gets there is the max possible dps. Thats all that matters
Bro you are living in some alternative reality.
