I got KICKED for posting DPS meter in chat! WHAT THE?
I contributed to the team by showing DPS after we downed the first monster (there were two we had to fight) and I got kicked shortly afterwards. DPS meter is there to ENCOURAGE players to do better. Must have been some low DPS lead who felt his jimmies rustled over his low DPS. :tfalarm:

The toxic part is posting the DPS meter in public without asking beforehand and thinking it is okay to drag the mood down just to boost your own ego or put down others.

I was running DPS meters in World too and while yes, the average DPS in public was around 30-50 and the group i played with/my own and other good players i found with were always around 120-180 DPS, that's still no reason to put down others by posting a DPS meter and trying to flex with it.

I can double threshold Alatreon solo in 4 player scaling, kill Fatalis sub 9 and temp Teo in 2:40, yet the most fun in Mon Hun is helping out others without constantly blaming and harrassing them.

I don't agree with people that say all mods are cheats and should be punished the same, since cosmetic and QoL mods like invisible mantles are fair game but one shot mods and similar is absolutely off-limits online.

Mon Hun has a awesome, helpful, wholesome and strong community that doesn't need to cannibalize itself with stupid and constant DPS comparisons, especially in the current balance state of the game.
Judging from these forums, Mh has one of the worst communities I have ever seen, only thing worse was the WOW forums
Maybe it's not a "us" problem but a "you" problem, if you use WoW as a reference for anything.

It's still a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam thread and you can't change that but the actual community in-game and on Twitch is completely different, even if the huge influx of new players can sway it for a time.

Why use the Mod for random? Use it for your friend if they ask for it. Also not all weapon can compete in DPS term, all weapon has their specialty
dandelion 16 MAR a las 8:04 a. m.
the dps meters available are wildly inaccurate so anyone using them with the intent to put others down are especially unintelligent beyond the norm. dps meters are a tool to improve yourself and if you try to use them as a tool to improve others you are a donkey

Specially if monster aims at you constantly so you gotta run/dive to not die while the team wails on it, dps meters are toxic, in end long as user is doing damage and helping, who cares who the top DPSer is, just have fun with the damn game.

No seriously, World of Warcraft has been all but totally taken over by the brain dead crowd that can't process any complexity of contribution beyond simple damage numbers for decades. To the point where healers are expected to have high DPS. You will fit right in over there. Though, I guess statistically 80% of people are stupid, so I suppose you'll fit in just about anywhere.

Enjoy your simple little U.I. bars and don't think about the fact that some horn user is probably responsible for your survival and 50% of your damage..

Mods are against Capcom's ToS, so it's really not a mystery why you got banned. You might as well have been shouting "HEY I BROKE THE RULES!".

Regardless of what your intent was by sharing that information, it could have easily been seen as harassment because "hey bro your DPS sucks, get gud" regardless of the words you used.

If you want to use it to improve your own play that's your business but you should NEVER force your standards on random players. You don't know how long they've spent playing MH after all. Maybe this is their very first MH game and or the first time they've fought this monster. You don't know.

I know I wouldn't like it I finished hunting a monster for the very first time and some rando complains about my DPS. It's like "Yes bro, I know my play wasn't perfect. I haven't fought this thing before".

Additionally if they CARED about that level of information they'd probably just install the DPS meter themselves, assuming they're on PC.

So no, you really AREN'T being helpful. Just keep it to yourself and only share that info if someone asks.

And lastly if you expect PERFECT play you should never host OR join random sessions in any game. It'll just be better for everyone that way.

^^^ found some one that is low on the dps meter, Is you ego that weak?
It's ok if it's small. You don't need to show how manly you are, if you are actually manly.
Over-compensating doesn't really work in most places.

I have had someone post the dps meter randomly in world, and never thought once to come cry about it or even gave it a 2nd thought
The point where I'd rather have a full report and not just a random DPS meter kind of flew over your head didn't it? Detailed info being better than a nugget of it, is hard to grasp?
Doesn't matter if your DPS is the highest but you failed the quest by carting 3 times or not breaking parts/staggering the monster/applying status(list non-exhaustive). To me THOSE values are way more interesting than how much damage we made.
At the end of the day, a DPS meter just says more about you than it does about the hunt.
"Look at that! I've got a big one!" Yes, and we had to carry you through the whole hunt. Congratulations.
Didnt fly over my head I DGAF what you want its a fkn dps meter. What you want does not exist

It does in most multiplayer coop games though. So, you just lack knowledge. That's ok.

me when my epic incorrect dps meter feeds me information that leads to a confirmation bias and fuels my impenetrable ego, i don't care that your dps meter says you're doing better than me, my dps meter says i'm doing better than you!
It's not competitive. Why are you smooth brains trying to make it competitive? Very weird. Bullying in schools and forced involvement in team sports would fix this.

DPS meters dont actually violate the terms and conditions, as it doesnt modify existing files within the game, it simply takes player-accessible data and makes it into a digestible form. Monster HP, damage dealt by a player, even crown sizes, are all data accessible by the player.
