Heavy Bowgun needs a buff in variety.
Controversial I know.

But currently, I dislike how the Heavy Bowgun is played. It's too Pierce sniping-centric.

You can't offset the recoil, making most of the HBGs completely worthless because the type they are supposed to work is absolutely garbage next to Pierce anyway.

Thus creating a Weapon Meta where the best weapon is the godddamn ORE-TREE.

Give us back HBG's old customization damn it! World's was so much better than this ♥♥♥♥!

This isn't an invitation to nerf Pierce btw, it's me asking for more variety.

I don't understand this. Pierce is good for certain larger monsters but spread still gets higher DPS and is easier to land max crit range shots and make sure all hits are crit range. If you are soloing you aren't using pierce as a main, I'm sorry but that just isn't reality. You can't use pierce with a monster in your face. In my experience, spread is much more reliable in getting all hits in crit range more often. Where pierce relies in the fact you have no aggro. I do want my customization options from world back but I use the Conga rarity 8 HBG with a 41% affinity and use spread and pierce both at lvl 2. I never use just Peirce unless I summon the AI bots and wanna be lazy and sit far away. Other than that, spread and block reducing and mobility is better for solo, not pierce.

that's because you dont use all the tools , you can 100% keep uptime on pierce shot using your mont and things like the gilly mentle to get rid of agro or put distance , use trap , use flash pod , use wound knock down etc.

pierce definitly have faster kill speed and uptime dps than any other ammo type
pierce also provide a faster charge for your special ammo.

This does not work in all instances and also if you are using a mount to constantly run away I promise my spread DPS is still beating you when I pump out 120+ damage per shot without moving. You aren't factoring in time for setting all that stuff up you mentioned. Also spread charges wyvernheart faster. You are just wrong here. Also there is stages where you simply don't have the room. Try that mount stuff on Gor Magala or other instances and it won't work. You can stand your ground with spread. Increase you crit range distance and spread has the best range. I have never once seen a time where pierce can successfully land as many full damage hits per shot as spread. Spread is the most reliable shot type, especially for solo. For instance, piece is completely useless against small monster. There is never a time when spread is useless. It will always pump out the same damage no matter the size of the monster.

Correction, after a timed test pierce will recharge wyvernheart about 3-4 seconds faster overall if you and the target are standing still, with pierce at about 34 seconds and spread at about 38 seconds and that's only because I have to readjust with spread because of the pushback. That 3-4 seconds isn't going to do much though because you have a higher chance to miss hits with Peirce and other things like soloing, you definitely don't wanna use pierce all the time. The downtime of setting all the stuff up to gain distance will take away the 4 second charge difference many times over. Which I why I use the congala tree for a balanced spread/Peirce build. When in a fight and having aggro, you'll gain more damage with spread and more reliable charge from shots that don't miss. Anyone who uses ranged knows long range shots miss pretty consistently through a fight because of monster movement. So your 4 seconds is negated by the inaccuracy. Other than that, piece really has nothing on spread especially when soloing. You gotta have a a specific set-up, not solo, to use Peirce and that's honestly boring af. Just sitting back and firing long range shots over and over while everyone else is in the action.
I mean it might not be peak meta 100% max performance but crit element elemental hbg is a ton of fun./.. Plenty of variety there

Why use Spread? It leaves you WIDE OPEN to attack each time you use it. I'd rather use Normal.
