maybe 3% chance of monstie spawning as a gold crown and even less for a mini crown.
even with the save scumming tricks where your just reloading the game over and over you still have to wait 2-3 mins for the monster to spawn. thats dozens of hours of just reloading your game and waiting for a spawn.
or you can save scum the arena... i tried to get one gold crown to spawn yesterday to test it, took 56 reloads to get the gold crown spawn. I cant imagine how many more it would take for the mini to spawn too. (probably 150+ on average for both crowns per monster)
Final creature I was missing was a Gravios mini. I found he showed up best at fallow evening in oil basin. So that is what I settled for as my resting option.
Great.
I actually feel motivated to complete the crown hunt this go round.
Yep. Not just crown hunting but also the free roaming, especially when you look for crowns in a party.
So it was Kushala Daora, had a full anti-kushala greatsword set to get the fight done quicker.
Saw a video how to tell if it's big enough, by checking the lines of its scales against your character height while it's resting.
Spam investigations, countless missions were abandoned for being too small (likely 200+)
But for the actual potential large gold crowns? The ones with the scale line above my character's head? I killed over 140 silver crowns that I all thought were golds, before finally finding a gold that was basically the same size.
Now in wilds you just check with binoculars and reset the map 50 times until it rolls good.
